The 2026 SuperMotocross season is officially over, and the SMX finale in Branson gave us championships, retirements, major offseason questions and plenty to debate heading into 2027.

Jorge Prado completed one of the biggest career turnarounds in recent memory by capturing the 450 SuperMotocross championship with KTM. After everything that happened over the last year, Prado has gone from an uncertain future to becoming one of the biggest threats heading into the 2027 Supercross season.

In the 250 class, Levi Kitchen delivered under pressure and finished the job in Branson, taking the SMX championship and putting himself right back into the conversation as one of the biggest names to watch in 2027.

But the biggest story of the final show of 2026 belongs to Eli Tomac.

One of the greatest riders of his generation has officially reached the end of his full-time racing career. We look back at Eli Tomac’s championships, his incredible run through Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and KTM, and the relationship with longtime mechanic Brian Kranz that helped shape one of the greatest careers in modern motocross and Supercross history.

We also break down:

• Jorge Prado winning the 2026 450 SuperMotocross championship
• Levi Kitchen closing out the 250 SMX title
• What needs to change with the SuperMotocross playoff format
• Why Branson could still be the perfect location for the SMX finale
• Jett Lawrence and the importance of the 2027 Supercross season
• Chase Sexton’s future and whether he should stay with Kawasaki
• Dylan Ferrandis officially retiring from professional racing
• The end of the Rockstar Husqvarna team
• Chance Hymas being replaced by JuJu Beaumer for Motocross of Nations
• JuJu Beaumer making the move to a 450 for MXoN
• Cooper Webb, Levi Kitchen and Team USA heading to France
• The latest questions surrounding World Supercross
• What Jorge Prado’s rise means for the 2027 450 class
• Eli Tomac’s legacy and final goodbye to professional racing

The 2026 season may be finished, but the road to Anaheim 1 and the 2027 Supercross Championship starts now.
