I can't say who my top favorite cats are (since I'm indecisive) but my number 1 has to be Crookedstar. He went through so much but still didn't turn 'evil'

I like squilf because she basically went through the most of any cat. She was an apprentice when she made the expedition to midnight, but unlike Crowpaw, she actually chose to go on a death defying journey to save the clans. The two toms she liked were both bad in their own ways and Brambleclaw yelled at her constantly because she was trying to tell him that his brother was evil. She was coerced into taking in her sisters kits, raised them as her own, lied to her mate, father, mother and the entire clan. And what did she get for it? Her ex threatens her niece and nephews and reveals that he tried to kill her father because she didnt like him. And then her niece reveals her lie to every cat at the gathering and now her niece is presumed dead, her sister lost her job and her cat husband hates her because she prioritized her sisters safety over him knowing who the parents of the kits he was raising were. then it is revealed that cat hell is gonna try to kill the clans and theres a huge fight and then her niece is dead and her dad is dead and other cats she cared about are dead. I dont get how you can hate a character that has gone through that much. Like, does she need more problems?

I would have loved if starflower went from casual villain to the type of "redeemed good guy" that just, does villainous things for the good guys.

"Oh you wanna mess with my kits? My clan mates? Hm, a bold decision, how bout i shove you out of a tree?" Would have been a hilarious and in character turn for her.


ETA: jayfeather reminds me a lot of 2 of the best cats ive ever own so im hella biased, but after him, and squilf, cause squilf, i adore not just dovewing and ivypool, but their relationship, especially in the dark forest arc. Its a very realistic strained suster relationship, ine that i can see myself in from bith sides.

I dont pick a favorite, but these are all in the "favorite" tier lol

As a Dovewing lover, I can say with certainty that she is a cinnamon roll and that is what makes her perfect

Star Flower immediately made me think she was the 1st Girlboss Gatekeeper Gaslight, she was literally so toxic and with Clear Sky, it was basically Kimye💀💀💀

the real wc struggle if you like side characters is one of three doomed outcomes:
1. they are killed off
2. the writers will not remember them and they will never show up in a book again (rip fringewhisker)
3. they forgor their personality and oops now they are crowd bully #6 or Mom

Now that you pointed it out there might be some truth in that "attached to one of the sisters" thing with Squirrel Leaf and Dove Ivy, i got more attached to the other two. Leaf probably because of how she tries to hold things together and wants to help everyone but it all just causes stress. And Ivy because she really wanted to fit in, belong somewhere, she felt like she was being left out and that drew her into a worse situation.

Learning that Moonkitty is a Starlight Glimmer supporter has watered my crops and brightened my day lol

If you were ever inclined to make MLP character videos of any sort I would be SO happy

2)Bristlefrost (She was a really good and well written character)
3) Alderheart (I relate to his anxiety)
4) Lilyheart (Just so cute. She is sweet but totally able to stand up and yell at Bramblestar when needed)

6) Frostpaw (Poor baby)
7) Jayfeather (So iconic)
8) Dovewing (Best mom ever. Plus She is very interresting as a pov character)
9) Tallstar (❤)
10) Briarlight (Never forget , she had an adorable relation with Jay)

I honestly thought Squilf would be number one but I'm also not surprised Lovewing Dovewing is number one.
It just makes sense.

I'm so glad you show Poppyfrost some love, I've always loved her because she just felt so distinct 👍
