Showed up for the redraw thumbnail, stayed for the moon prism power.

Fun fact: The Sailor Moon arcade game is the first SM media ever released in the states. It was released in March 1995 predating the DIC Dub premiere by several months.

Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, he is the one named Matt McMuscles!

"Why do I only get love letters from girls?"
They aren't actually for Rei. DiC just took every single sapphic letter in Tokyo and stuffed them in her locker so the network censors wouldn't find them.

32:49 Thank you, Matty, for staying true to the spirit of the over-the-top characterization of Rei as illogically angry, usually at Serena, and usually with no justification.

That thumbnail is now saved for research and educational purposes only.

Love it per usual but the joke wrestling guy intros are anime transforms got me almost peeing myself

Those skirts are amazingly resistant to flipping up.

Ahh yes. I DEFINITELY remembered when Mars called Everyone a Jabroni and whooped their candy asses

The second game (text adventure) was funnily enough the most entertaining. Wouldn't mind seeing you play more of it.

"Yakuza but it is Sailor Moon" is something I never realized I needed but we do NEED

“Dead can’t come back to life”
“Rei we all died and came back”
“Dead can’t come back to life!!!”

Do a full playthrough of that Sailor Moon visual novel

It's been a LOOOONG time since I watched Sailor Moon on USA, and that "Chocolate Parfait" clip unlocked some memories locked deep within my mind palace.

On the GB game, Sailor Moon's name, Usagi, means rabbit, that's why her life counter is that way.

Matt rambling for 1 hour is paradise for me.

We need more sailor moon games. We need more usagi in general, preferably heavily riffing off the 90s anime. Peak magical girl goodness

I love how you used the 90s/00s English logo instead of the modern one. I get it's probably to attract people who aren't in the fandom but remember the series from childhood, but it goes a lot better with your channel/thumbnail aesthetic.

Said this in an earlier reply but I'm still surprised Toei/Naoko Takeuchi/Bandai Namco don't do more with Sailor Moon considering it's easy money. They could release an action RPG or an RPG that spans all of the 5 story arcs in one game. Like how Dragon Ball Z Kakarot went over all 4 sagas. Imagine being able to explore Tokyo, the Moon Kingdom, Crystal Tokyo, Elyseon and if they wanted to go for it, traveling in outer space for the Stars arc finale. It would be so cool. But yeah I've accepted that Toei just won't pump money into this franchise despite the customer base being there. I guess they'll just forever focus on merchandise for people who watched it in the 90s and keep most of it in Japan.

56:50 You have 30 points left to spend and you spent 0, is basically what's going on here.
