Which is why I'm glad there are so many of these basketball games, clips and the documentaries on here!   So people get to learn about Larry Bird.... because he really was an incredible basketball player!!!

LARRY LEGEND IS A UNICORN AND THE TRUE GOAT!!! 🐐 ☘️

Larry Bird struck more fear in Laker fans like myself more than any other player of his era.  Including MJ.  I wish Larry had chosen to be a quarterback or MLB pitcher, but he probably would have ended up a hall of famer in those sports too.  What a legend. ♥

Good on you for pointing out the story of the left handed game, amazing but exaggerated. Most people barely react to Bird chasing down his own miss, you highlighted it KUDOS!

for me, Jordan and Bird are the best two players ive ever seen. ive been watching ball since the 80s.

I don't think there's ever been a more appropriate appellation for a sports figure than "Legend" for Larry Bird. You listen to the stories of the Hall-of-Fame players who went up against him, and no other word really seems as fitting.

The left handed game Larry said that he was going to play left handed through 3 quarters except jumpers and long shots. He did go back to his right hand in the 4 th quarter and that game went into overtime. His stats that game was 47 pt,11assists,14 rebounds. The Celtics won that game in overtime 120 to 119. Larry himself said left hand was one thing but to win he had to go back to his right hand. He was amazing to watch!

He said he'd use his left except for long jumpers. He said in an interview that when the game got too close, he went back to his right .

He had 27 points left handed and had 43 total for the game. he switched because the game was close.

Bird is at the GOAT table.  No questions.

Magic Johnson grew up, went to high school and MSU  all about a 1/2 hour's drive from my home. I remember MSU winning the national championship the year I was married. So I knew a bit about "Magic" Ervin Johnson and I enjoy watching him play, but I have to say Larry Bird is my favorite player to watch. Have you read his book "Drive"? It's a good one.
Bill Walton was good, funny and loved playing with the Celtics. Maybe because he was also a really great passer and the Celtics used passing a lot. He also really appeared to love playing with Larry, but he did tend to say things a little over the top at times. It was his personality. I really liked him.

Great reaction..
Larry Legend..
Keep digging..
Best ever 'yrash talker'...hes unreal,!!!

MR  CLUTCH

He is my GOAT too....this is a good compilation

I think basketball has promoted Larry as the shooter and Magic as the passer and that's how they'd like to keep it. Even in this video they are going heavy on Larry's dunking which while impressive wasn't something Bird did much. The truth is Larry was the more creative passer of the two. He also mastered the most complete skill set of any player to hit the court. In a peak to peak comparison of the greatest to ever do it  there is no question Larry is a legit contender for that title.

Its so good to see a australia

If you can find the whole clip he said left handed for at least three quarters.  That clip was cut short.
