Too many New Yorkers. Same in Vermont.

I lived in Lenox and Pittsfield for 10 years. GREAT people but limited public transportation and socialization. I worked in health care so I really saw the dark side of living there. The entitled second home crowd definitely made life hard for everyone else...It's nearly impossible to find reasonably priced hotel and motel rooms during the entire summer.

Born and bred in Western Massachusetts. I have spent much time in this beautiful area. Great hiking! If Massachusetts wasn't so woke, I'd move back.

Traffic is a total non-issue, even in tourist season. Unless you decide to take that one road to Tanglewood,. in which case you're begging for it.

As someone living in Pittsfield I want to add that our public transportation/transportation without a car is very difficult. We have a bus system, but most routes don’t go very late and other bus lines are in rotation (such as bus route 5 which switches between 5a and 5b). We also do have taxis and lyft but they are still pretty limited and can get expensive, NO Uber at all.

Finding a good mechanic is a challenge too

I loved it and my family is from the Berkshires but not now when I was young it was so different and we had family from Lee to Great Barrington and  beyond. We spent tons of summers at the lakes but things change people move on and it's not as friendly as it once was is how I will leave it.

Very well done!

Born and raised in western Ma. I moved  out of state a long time ago. My reasons for never moving back would be the politics and the expense of living there.

I have lived in the Berkshires for six years and not living near a large airport is a challenge because I travel for work. I also like direct flights, which is a problem because most of the direct flights for the locations that I go to are out of Boston. Sometimes I leave the night before my flight and either stay with my parents or at a hotel near Boston and then shuttle into the airport  on the Logan express.

I live in the pioneer Valley so know the Berkshires well. In regard to number 11, the weather, I would say even in the summer you can experience periods of rather cool rainy weather.

I hope to stop by the area this august

I forgot the fun connecting with the world when I was on a short vacation just over the state line, a six-mile drive to join locals in the library parking lot to guarantee access. At least grocery shopping was across the street.

I just discovered your channel and it is a game changer for me my brother. I will be reaching out for my real estate needs.

Pittsfield  has a Dark Vibe to it.

This guy is from SOUTH county. BIG DIFFERENCE from North County.

"I am a real estate professional, btw..."

Ah, reverse psychology...

Very clever. lol

You can't tell me what to do, mr real estate man! Now I'm definitely gonna move there!

Litchfield, Connecticut, which is nearby has exactly the same issues but then again, there’s something very special about these places

I was just there for 3 months and to me it was a disaster.addicts and panhandlers everywhere.numerous stores like dunkin donuts were closed in the middle of the day cause of lack of help.few good jobs for the middle-class,mostly part-time retail jobs.

Don't walk down North St. after dark...
