I took the Tesla Model Y Standard on a real winter car camping adventure. I slept in the car overnight at minus 10 degrees Celsius with snow all around, making this a proper cold-weather test.

I show how comfortable car camping in the Model Y really is, even in winter. You will see the storage space, how I prepared the bed and how Camp Mode performs in freezing temperatures. I also share how the night actually felt and how well the car handled the cold.

This is crucial for all Tesla campers staying in public places: You must lock the car using the small lock icon on the center display—NOT via your phone. Otherwise, the Tesla will unlock the doors if someone pulls the exterior handle (since the phone key is nearby).

Am I the only one wondering why he keep all the doors open while he is preparing the bed? He said that he must hurry because it started to snow, and he don’t like to have all that snow inside the car 😂

The day a car can safely drive all night long autonomously while you sleep, and still have usable range in the morning, will be quite cool. No more worrying about where you're parking overnight.

Just slept overnight in +13 c weather with my 10 year old son- battery usage for about 11 hours - 8% in the Model Y performance.

When sleeping in cold I think its most important to have enough blankets and things like that, to cover yourself. Also find a good sleeping position so that your neck and spine wont hurt, otherwise its maybe even better to sleep outside if you have enough stuff to cover yourself for outside. This is what I learned from once sleeping in a car.

My wife and 9 month old baby slept in model y while I slept in a tent. It was wonderful for them. Its my dream to do a solo cross country road trip sleeping only in my Tesla.

You can buy windows shades that is insulated which keeps the cold or heat from entering the cabin

I just got my tesla y standard and im in love with it. Will def, go camping with my wife and hopefully with my daughter when she's old enough. I came from a Skoda Enyaq and man, space in de Tesla y is insane compared.
