On September 13th, 2026, I went birdwatching on a forest road in Kanagawa Prefecture!
Although the weather wasn't ideal, I was able to see a Crested Kingfisher!
It's a bad habit of mine, but I couldn't stay still in the same place, so I stopped photographing the kingfisher midway (I got bored).
I would be very grateful if you would watch until the end.

おはようございます🐣長野県で朝湯浸かって朝食から獅子鍋食って今日の探鳥諦めました☔😭神奈川県某林道、その気温でミンミンゼミ鳴いてるんですね。ヤマセミには愛されていたようでなによりです。例年より遅いコガモの飛来、早いのか遅いのかヒドリガモの先発隊到着、旅鳥のアカアシシギとアオアシシギの飛来（これで信号機シギ出揃いました）大きな沼にカモが集まって来る予感･･･台風２７号が心配。昨日は雷撃機（ミサゴの鮒掴み飛行の姿）も観られウキウキで長野県入り。

それにしてもこれほどじっくりのヤマセミ観察いいですね！飛んでくれたらもっといいのに

I watched a news video from NHK just a few days ago about another Bear sighting around or near Tokyo district. It had a cub with it and the mother Bear attacked a car 🚙 that stopped to watch ! Please be extremely careful about Bears in Japan anywhere you go birding.
The CRESTED KINGFISHER’s genus has three other species : the GIANT KINGFISHER, RINGED KINGFISHER, and the BELTED KINGFISHER whichever it forms a species complex. The CRESTED KINGFISHER can be seen from northeast Afghanistan 🇦🇫 to central Vietnam 🇻🇳 and Japan 🇯🇵.
The CRESTED KINGFISHERs also known to migrate altitudinal in winter to avoid frozen rivers when living higher up in the Himalayas and in Japan 🇯🇵. In Hokkaido m these birds remain around hot springs, while elsewhere, the Kingfishers seems to be sedentary.
