Fun fact: Yoonchae wearing wonhee's tooth necklace because the haters said she belong in kpop, so Lara took it and throw it and said "and i so grateful"

fun fact, a lot of stuff in the mv are references to the hate they've endured

Katseye is also in a cornfield because they were called corny😔

Hey cricket, wanna hear a fact? When people found out megan is bisexual they said turn to god so in the part where megans says thanks you the word GOD hits her

1:42 and in this shot the haters are the one laying on the floor and instead of the haters taking pictures of le sserafim it’s them taking pictures of the haters

5:33 Fun fact : Megan mouths some COMPLEATLY different <3

Honestly Ccrizic, are you okay?

I’m going to send you some references and info about this powerful collab.
The song was produced by Katseye’s team, the music video by LS’s team, and the choreography by ILLIT’s team.

It’s important to know that these are three of the groups receiving the most hate online these days. There’s always some member—or the group itself—at the center of an online storm.
But that hate keeps them in the spotlight, in the news, and being talked about.
The song is essentially a response to the haters, featuring various references in both the lyrics and the music video.

The lyrics—much like the title suggests—touch on being "iconic by mistake"; they often go viral because of hate, but whether the talk is good or bad, they remain in the media.
The lyrics include lines like: "Hating me is, like, all you do, from breakfast to dinner" and "breaking your fingers" from typing so much, alluding to how some haters live solely for that—spreading hate.
They express gratitude in the lyrics: "Thanks for the comments; it’s thanks to all your hate that I’m iconic by mistake" and "your imagination made me go viral."

A great reference point is the line: "Engrave it on my tombstone: I survived the fame and I barely changed." It’s sung by Chaewon (from LS), and on her 2024 birthday, several haters sent funeral wreaths to the front of her agency.
In the music video, she actually sings that line while standing on a tombstone.

Currently, all three groups have one member on hiatus, but Manon (Katseye) is the only one who didn't participate in the collab at all.
Chaewon (LS) actually filmed the music video, and Moka (ILLIT)—despite not appearing on screen—has her vocals on the track and is credited as a singer; in the music video, all the members of her group (ILLIT) appear during her vocal parts. The lyrics—"Always on duty, taking hit after hit, I keep smiling, smiling"—sung by ILLIT, reference the barrage of haters and scandals constantly linked to the members' image.
In the music video, beyond referencing a scene from their previous video ("Cherish"), they also poke fun at the criticism regarding their smiles; the members faced a massive wave of hate from people claiming they had gotten veneers that made their teeth look ugly.
The helium-pitched vocal section also references the haters who mock their voices for being too high-pitched and childish—specifically Minju’s voice, which is the one altered in the video.

In the video, a police officer (representing haters or the media) cuts the ropes, causing part of the phrase to fall onto Megan (from Katseye); she gets hit, falls, and loses her angel halo—symbolizing how, when a wave of hate strikes, she loses her "goody-two-shoes" image.
This happens right after she says "F*ck you" but the subtitle reads "thank you," illustrating how the reverse can also happen: the media portrays things however they please.
Another great reference appears in the lines: "Just trying to keep being myself, dancing in a kind of crazy way. But now I’ve become iconic because of how f*cking much you hate me."
These lines are sung by Daniela, who—following the "Gnarly" era—faced (and continues to face) absurd amounts of hate for her dancing style and facial expressions; the video intentionally exaggerates these very traits.
After all, the more people spread hateful videos of her dancing and making her signature tongue expressions, the more famous she becomes in the media.

One reference in the lyrics and video that few people catch or know about concerns the "bag": "(Ayy) but the bag is nice though (Ayy) and I'm so grateful."
The lyrics explain that they aren't doing this solely for the money, but a bag full of cash is still a good thing, and they are grateful for it. It’s significant that Lara (Katseye) sings that particular line, given how haters—especially on X (Twitter)—mock her by claiming her parents traded or sold her to Hybe for a payout. It stems from prejudice regarding her mixed heritage (an Indian mother and a Sri Lankan father)—as if her parents sold her simply because they needed the money.

The police monitoring and pursuing them represent the fans, haters, and media who are constantly watching and chasing them.
One member from each group appears with a nosebleed, revealing the unseen, dark side of fame; it illustrates how, even while "bleeding"—mentally exhausted or physically injured—they keep smiling for the media.

In one part of the choreography, a girl holds the fingers of two others—a gesture that initially looks kind (like fans and media holding their hands)—but then she twists their fingers, causing them to grimace in pain. This mirrors how the media and hateful fans act: not only do they let go of the idols' hands during controversies, but they also "twist their fingers," causing them actual harm.

The choreography features numerous references to dance routines from the three groups' previous songs, such as "Antifragile," "Boompala," "Gabriela," "Gnarly," "It's Me," and others.

I believe the collaboration was expertly crafted to reflect their intended concept. Each group saw their individual, personal moments represented—and, most importantly, they silenced the haters by turning that very hate to their own advantage.

Another detail is the tooth pendant that Lara tears from Yoonchae’s neck. That gold tooth is previously seen on Wonhee, a K-pop group member. Lara ripping the necklace off Yoonchae represents a rejection of the constant tendency to link Katseye’s image to K-pop—judging and comparing them to K-pop groups, especially regarding Yoonchae because she is Korean—and serves to make it clear that they are an international group, casting off that stigma.
