I love the idea of tribal people explaining literally what happened and others are like “they’re speaking in riddles”

Everything here is great fuel for epic fantasy fiction.

You forgot to mention that there’s a story associated with Ebu Gogo’s cave, namely: The locals tolerated the little people’s antics, such as stealing things or food, but when they started kidnapping children (most likely during a famine), the locals had had enough and went in large numbers to the Ebu Gogo Cave, killed them, and then burned the bodies. And on the basis of this story, researchers went to that cave.

When Spanish explorer Cabeza de Vaca was able to return to Spanish held territory and describe what he had seen, they kept asking if he had seen treasure, which he always denied.  Centuries later it was discovered he had seen a treasure, he just hadn't known it was a treasure.  He described a tribe that crushed rocks to make a purple face paint for rituals.  Later it was realized that the rocks were manganese ore, after the ore had been found and it was realized this had been part of de Vaca's route.

I also want this dude to explain how scientists discovered some modern facts that are actually false.

The hobbits of Florence Island went extinct because their women refused to marry men shorter than 6 ft.

I like how casually and quickly you completely explain these old myths and legends I had heard of as a kid and had never ever gotten an update on.  All I had to do is find your channel for all the answers.

Wow I didn't realize that was what Jason and the Argonauts were doing with the golden fleece. Many thanks for this!

dude youre gonna help teach so many kids and ignitre people's passion for learning - you're doing what schools aren't!

Now I know what to do if the Children of the Corn are chasing me... I'll just run into the Gates of Hell.

I thought I saw news that some of the Easter Island statues had full tall bodies buried up to their neck?

By Easter Island natives, my fridge freezer and my washing machine actually walked not just on the ground but up the stairs.

So my favorite part of the Amazon legends is if you look at where the accounts and poetry depictions come from you notice a fun pattern.  The further west you go, the more outlandish the accounts of the amazons are.  A female only warrior class, super insanely tall, cutting off a breast to be better archers, etc.  The further east you go the more the stories and depictions show much more realistic depictions.  So yeah, the people who were actually had contact with them gave fairly accurate depictions but the more the story was retold by people who had never encountered them, the more they got exaggerated.

for 900 years the norse vikings legends of travels to the new world 500 years before columbus were ridiculed ... intil they were actually proven to be true in lanse aux meadows newfoundland

3:06 this makes me rethink what Atlantis might really be or who Atlantis might be

Wait a minute, what about the seven cities of gold? Phoenix, Tuscon, Las Vegas...

That fleece wasn't the only real thing in the story of Jason.

Is it possible to start your videos with narrating the title of the video so that we can listen to them without having my phone on? Thank you!! Love your videos!!

Thank you for your time and content 😊

The village destroyed by the space rock doesn't match the time period for Sodom.  Another case of ancient stories getting blended with reality over centuries.
