Really appreciate you taking the time to try out MY LINS and feature them in your video 🙌 Glad to hear your honest thoughts on them in a real use case. Thanks again for the support and for including them in your setup 🎧

Great video! Really enjoyed the history behind amps and how IEMs changed live performance.

Fresh bassist here: your videos helped me so much. I started gigging recently, just with Zoom B1X, a p-bass and some budget iems that you recommended in the past. I sound great, I can hear myself properly and have generally good time on stage. Thanks, man!

I’m very pleased with the KZ ZAR: plenty bottom end for bass monitoring. On the larger side but sounds very good (specially considering the price)

The MY LIN section caught my attention. Nice to hear some real-world impressions instead of just graphs.

Bassist here. I really started enjoying IEM when I added the Backbeat G2 to my strap. It’s a vibration device that adds tactile feedback. Highly recommended

Custom IEMs are 100% worth the investment. I've been custom for about 15 years now. Cannot imagine going back to universals.

I like in-ears, the one tour I did I used them with an amp on stage purely for the drummer, who really wanted that feeling of an amp on stage. I enjoyed it too, but these days on the bar circuit I currently am playing in, I don't have the technical know-how to run my own ears, so its a treat if the band has the gear for it. I do want to figure out amp-less with just DI and floor wedges, so I can still show up with just my gig bag and a DI, but so far, Ive found that lacking bad..

I've been using IEMs exclusively for years now, in fact my bass amp has not left my home office since 2018! I was using a SansAmp Bass DI but then picked up a Line6 HX Stomp 4 years ago and haven't looked back. It did take me a while to get used to the IEMs and I did miss the feel of having the amp behind me on stage, but now I can hear everything clearly, don't have to worry about hearing loss, and never have to deal with the struggle of being told to turn my amp down when I already can't hear myself over the drums and screaming guitars.

Love my  Alclair CMVKs. My Quad Cortex give me killer tones. If it wasn’t for my band mates who don’t use IEMs I wouldn’t need the Mackie Thump 215 I bring for stage volume.

This was informative

I also have a weird ear shape on my left ear and I can definitively understand your annoyance of constantly making the IEM stay in place

Bassist Here. The only reason I Started to use iem is because i just wanted to move around the stage more and because me and my band would have Killed ourselves with the Volume we Played with the wedges😂. I still want to have a amp behind me all the times, but thats just me. What makes you want to Play more bass, is the best choice for you.

Quality content! Very nice channel, man. This is pretty random but I wanted apologize for never thanking you for doing that bass cover of my song from so long ago. It was an awesome rendition you did and I loved it. Wishing you the best of luck with your channel! Keep it up!!

While I'm an adept of the wonders of going ampless, I still think having an amp lying around is still a good idea. Specificaly and amp head and whatver cab combination you want. I happen to find myself constantly in situations where the PA is the friends we made along the way or the sound guy doesn't have the time or the skill to deal with the extra cables and hassle of setting IEM monitors or DIs and wedges propperly. For those gigs my amp was a life saver. And for those gigs where there is no need to carry the weight because the place is better equiped I just carry the head and use its DI and just monitor through whatever cab or amp they have around. Now, I wouldn't advise to go and run to get an amp right now but if you already have one, and it's not taking up half the room keep it around. It may save your ass someday.

I love my Etymotic ER4XRs with custom molds. I’ve I am playing with my band, IEMs all the way. If I’m practicing, IEMs if I need to practice quiet. I’ll plug them into my little Sonicake pocket master and plug my bass in, and set it off to the side and it sounds awesome. I feel like (and my wife will agree) i play better with IEMs in. 10/10.

I'm with you on weird ear shape. I use tri-flange tips to help keep them in my ears since I don'thave the resources to have custom molds made. That has worked so far. Also, quite the anime ending on your vids for a not-so-anime dude. I suppose that's the humor of it besides the play-on-words?

I invested my hopes in Shure, starting from the SE215, then the 425, and finally the 535, but I have never been totally happy. I think bass frequencies are still quite poor. I'm curious if anybody has tested the Hidizs My Lin vs. Shure SE. Thx!

Are custom-molded IEMs still a thing? All I see nowadays are the ones with tips, which I don't love. I'd be willing to go to an audiologist to get molded for a better fit.

What radio transmitter/receiver system are you using?

I'm really happy with my IEM's but I'm struggling to find a radio system that can actually handle bass & doesn't hiss for under $600 - any suggestions?
