"THE GHETTO PRINCESSES" / Among the 50,000 gang members in New York, approximately 9,000 are girls. This recent phenomenon worries sociologists and specialized FBI agents who are always afraid of encountering an eleven-year-old girl armed with an Uzi. 94% of them have their first child between the ages of 14 and 17. At night, the gang offers protection and companionship as they roam the grim streets of Brooklyn and the South Bronx. They display their colors, looking for an easy victim, a drug addict in need of a fix, and fiercely defend their territories, armed with razor blades hidden under their tongues and automatic weapons, in a world where crime has become commonplace. They all live in the same neighborhood and form a tight-knit group. It is in the tower blocks of "Settlement Houses" that our characters live. Some are in hiding, others are in prison, or continue to haunt the streets, ready to do anything to survive. Looking out the window, you feel like you're in a post-war landscape: houses destroyed by fire, gutters transformed into garbage dumps, rats, crack pipes, empty stores. A journey into the heart of an America in decline.
