Vivien Leigh was not alone when she died, nor did Olivier find her that way. She was with her companion Jack Merivale when she died, who called Olivier upon her passing.

GWTW is one of my all time favorite iconic flicks! Because of the great cost to make it then, any attempt to ever remake such a classic, would now be so many times more. For that reason, I don't think any studio would ever risk spending the money that such a production would cost. Nothing close to it will likely ever be made again. In addition, for the lead roles for actors Vivian Lee and Clark Gable, their distinct physical identities and "as good as you can get" performances, no remake can ever come close to what we all have burned in our collective memories.

But the cast "then and "now?" They've all gone on to their "reward." Not many cast members around for a movie that debuted in 1940; that's 86 years ago! Whoa‼️

This movie is so special to me. My mom translated and interpreted it in some Chinese movie companies right after of the cultural revolution. I always have a very soft spot for Vivien She had a tragic romantic life. No one has her kind of charm. ❤❤❤

Vivien was not found by Olivier (who was married to Joan Plowright when Vivien passed); she was found by Jack Merivale.

Wow nice information! I was surprised by Harry Davenport’s age. Hattie was my favorite! Terrible she couldn’t sit with her cast mates and receive her award along side them. She sure deserved it!!
