Im 43 years old male with thining hair been of shampoo now for quite some time now and my hair is growing back guys.pls try for yourself it may help you to.
tbh i know one day i will just quit shampoo. I already wash my hair only once a week. People don't realize the more they wash it the more oil their scalp will produce.
I did no shampoo for over 3 years. At first it was great. My hair seemed to like it. But over time my hair just got flatter and more and more unmanageable and stringy. I recently went back to using shampoo and I will keep using it because my hair is soooo much better. Maybe it would be fine for people with short hair or different hair types but it definitely isn't for me.
I personally have had a lot of problems with dandruff, though my scalp never itches. I think this is completely due to using shampoo since I don't remember having this issue when I was a lot younger. I'm edging towards the no shampoo movement myself because I feel like that is what is going to solve my scalp problem. It is absolutely humiliating to have flakes in your hair, KNOWING you are washing your hair and doing everything you are supposed to do. I've also read that a lot of people have had good success with their hair health after they stopped using shampoo. I don't think we actually need to use shampoo.
Our ancestors didn't need shampoo. It's such a recent invention, and people generally don't ask themselves any questions about it... Once I quit sugar, though, I started questioning EVERYTHING. If I can't safely eat it, I don't want it on my skin. It even burns our eyes, come on!! Now I only use 100% natural tallow soap once a week (instead of the daily shampooing my scalp got used to), and I intend to use only water at some point in the future. It's just the adjustment period that is intimidating me. Soon, though! Soooon.
Hmm I think an interesting thing is that there is a difference between dry scalp from products and actual conditions like psoriasis and sebhorric dermatitis. I tried to doing no shampoo but sebhorric dermatitis literally affects your hairs ability to grow and shed correctly. If you let all that build up on the scalp stay, it’s going to get worse over time. But that’s me at least. I’m trying to find ways to solve without products but. In this case using
tribes from amazonia don´t use shampoo and their hair is amazing... yeah right but we live in cities and polluted areas.. not to mention the virus and bacteria we ´collect´ from 1 day... of course we need to be more cleaner
been doing no shampoo or soap for some years now. i love it, my hair isn’t so oily and i barely get stenchy BO. i also slept on the floor for a year and a half, loved that too, would go back to it instantly.
I stopped using shampoo and conditioner in 2014. I repriotized and simplified my life and what I was spending money on. Shampoo leaves your hair dry, frizzy, and stripped of natural oils.
I have not been using shampoo for last ~15 years and have never felt a need to go back to it. Normally I just wash it daily with water. No idea if this would work for everyone though, I have short hair so I don't how tangled it would get if it was longer. Since it's so long ago I don't remember how long it took to "settle", but I think it was matter of months.
