Strange we no longer have crimes involving waiting at a telephone booth for a call from the criminal

@paulhyland7456 4 years ago

They figured out that the profile of the bomber told them "He probably had bomb making experience".

Wonder why the FBI agents back then looked like they walked straight off The Godfather set.

Also they say The Bomb caused Three million dollars in damage. That is exactly the amount The Bomber wanted ( The Irony)

@noahmarchais804 4 years ago

Imagine being the security guard who let that into the building 😂

: A slightly complicated way to get out from under a losing, aging Hotel/ Casino ; Fraud

So, they caught the guy but he didn’t talk? They didn’t even claim the extortion money..

Money can be replaced, but lives can not

@johnk1639 3 years ago

Funny that the only reason they caught him was a member of the public writing down a plate number and reporting it. And even then, they almost discounted it.

That old man ... got big ball's...

His 2 son #WTF

Interesting that the bomb going off caused 3 million in damage and the bomber asked for 3 million dollars

@bazzmcfury9550 4 years ago

Yeah.... me thinks someone needs to be investigating the casino owner. No follow up demands, no contact at a drop site (money was obvious not the objective) they demanded 3 million when that's exactly what the insurance pay out would have been. Dodgy AF. Wouldn't be the first business owner to burn his building to get out of financial trouble.

Tracking down the guy was a piece of work.

What a careless guard, unknown people come with a van with word they are making a delivery but can't take due diligence to find out who these people are and what exactly they are delivering,i call this sleeping on the job,a properly trained security personnel does not leave room for surprises.

@Llew70 2 years ago

They completely ignore the ex-girlfriend of one of the family who initially gave the tip... And made the video 3x as long for no reason.

@ChristineAustralia74 4 years ago

A white van!! That narrows it down 😳

Qxir covered this story fantastically! If only this kind of ingenuity would have been put to good use.

How can such an old man be that ruthless. All he needed was money, too dangerous.

I've been to Harvey's lake Tahoe, the new building put up in I believe 1986. It's actually very glamorous and quite high-end. I'd heard about the 1980 bombing when I was a kid, but I'd never been to lake Tahoe until 1990. From what I've been told, the old building failed miserably by comparison.
