Another fascinating one. Sad stories associated too. I had a distant cousin killed by moving coal wagons near Clay Cross in the old sidings. Her husband had been killed down the mine three years before and she was foraging for firewood. We are just so lucky. Thanks.

I have a very vague memory of being in the Calcutta pumping station as a kid as my dad was an electrical fitter for Whitwick pit. He took me with him one weekend when he had to do some checks.
The sidings you saw at the end of the video were Mantle Lane sidings. It was once a British Rail depot and they used to have open days there, I even got to see The Flying Scotsman there as a nipper!
