Love it. I had a ‘96 Tequesta that I “upgraded” over the years - when it finally snapped I was able to overcome my grief with a Zaskar.

One of the likes is from Portugal. You speak about bikes with love and wih a portuguese word....saudade.

Not too shabby! I love the SunTour equipment, They were so ahead of the competition for innovation and quality. What a shame they didn't have the business acumen to survive.

Thanks for keeping this admirable level of ‘stickling’ if that is even a verb. This is so my era though my paper round salary only stretched to a Timberline. I’ll be sure to share this with my childhood riding partner who, even at 50 is still shoehorning himself into his 35 year old yellow and blue team GT jersey. Lovely stuff.

Had a GT Rebound from 1997, steel everything, fitted it over 3 years with XT and LX parts.  The Rockshox Quadra 5 were terrible, but i loved that bike.

Great build. I myself also have build to much GT bikes and i'm running out of space. The problem isn’t that I collect mountain bikes.
The problem is that my family keeps using bike storage space. Something has to move out my wife said. Considering moving the kids to the shed and build a tree house for the wife.

Your Avalanche video made me decide to buy an old GT (a '92 Tequesta) and it's been great fun. The original paint was stripped off though so I tried my own purple/yellow take on the Wild Daktari Black design. The early 90s GT paint jobs are incredible when you look closely, and really hard to replicate. The white speckles I think are paint thinner or similar that was splashed on while the paint was still wet, giving that incredible acid burn effect.

Great video! Which I managed to miss when it came out. Although I remain deeply skeptical about the benefits of Hellenic seat stays, I can't argue with the vibrant Pollockian paintwork, especially now that most bicycles seem to be available in a choice of either grey or dark grey.
