My Tears Ricochet by Taylor Swift | Emotional First Time Reaction | Novaria Studios

💔 We knew Taylor could write lyrics that sting, but this one hit different.

In this emotional reaction, we dive into 'My Tears Ricochet' by Taylor Swift, and it’s nothing short of haunting. The layered vocals, storytelling, and aching metaphors wrapped around grief, betrayal, and unresolved pain. This isn’t just a song, it’s an experience.

This track left us speechless. And maybe just a little wrecked. In the best way.

✨ Let us know in the comments how this one hit you when you first heard it.

We didn’t expect this one to hit the way it did.
Not a tearjerker exactly, just so emotionally sharp and beautifully written.

Taylor really knows how to carve space in a song for reflection.
It’s quiet. It’s powerful. And it stuck with us longer than we thought it would.

Let us know what stood out to you in My Tears Ricochet, the lyrics, the tone, the message?
We’re all ears. 👇

I truly think that this betrayal was the biggest heartbreak of her life. More so than any boyfriend.

@CindyEvens-nh2tm 10 months ago

It actually is her type of song. Folklore, Evermore and Tortured Poets Department are deep lyrical poetry

@Random_chick333 10 months ago

People are so dismissive of her music and say all she does is write break up songs. This is a perfect example of something that can be interpreted as a breakup song but it’s truly so much deeper. Thanks for the reaction.❤️‍🔥🫶

We swifties like to say there’s a Taylor for every mood and there’s a mood for every Taylor. There’s really not one kind of Taylor song. Yes, her more radio friendly songs are more pop, uplifting, and fun, but there’s plenty that’s completely different. Happy to watch your journey into discovering more Taylor. 🫶

Father Figure.....from her new album is about her label also, and it's so good.

@CindyEvens-nh2tm 10 months ago

For her low register, try Carolina, the song she wrote and recorded for the movie “Where the Crawdad Sings”

Her performance of this live on the Eras tour was also haunting!!!

It's a verified, certified, personified fan favorite. Full stop.

This song is sung to her record Label Boss Scott Borchetta who didn't allow her to buy her masters when she left the label. ( We refer to the six albums as her stolen albums, she just bought the masters back this year!) To showcase how a mastermind she is: she references ALL her stolen albums:
didn't have it in myself to go with grace

State of Grace, Red

And you're the hero flying around saving face

Superman, Speak Now

And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake

Look What You Made Me Do, Reputation

Cursing my name

The Way I Loved You, Fearless

Wishing I stayed

All You Had To Do Was Stay, 1989

Look at how my tears ricochet

Teardrops On My Guitar, Debut

My absolute favourite song of hers.
She was 15/16yo when she signed with what was then a brand new label and was one of their first artists.
Father Figure off her new album is about the same label/owner but written after she finally got her masters. Also an excellent song.

3:15 I love this because Taylor has worked so hard on her singing over the years, you can really hear the difference with the album re-records. She really got to show it off on Folklore and Evermore

Love to see people appreciate her lower voice because till now lot of people said she can't sing but plsss low notes are hard to sing too.

The Lore... The song, My Tears Ricochet, is about her "stolen lullibies = 6 Masters" This song relates to the song, Father Figure, as both songs are about Scott Borchetta, the owner of Big Machine Record Group. Scott signed Taylor at age 15 in 2006 to a contract for 6 Albums. Once she completed those 6 Albums in 2018. Taylor tried to negotiate the purchase of her 6 Masters when that contract ended. But, Scott wanted her to resign for 6 New Albums. He refused to negotiate with her unless she signed an NDA silencing her from EVER speaking about their negotiations or Scott. Which Taylor refused. Scott Borchetta then sold her masters to Scooter Braun a person Scott Borchetta knew Taylor disliked, as Scooter Braun was Kanye's Manager. So, Taylor signed with a new Record Co, Universal Music Group UMG, asnthey agreed that Taylor would own ALL her Masters, responsibility & control of album recordings. UMG, serves as her US Label Partner, for her Albums 7-12.

Taylor has always written songs similar to this and that it why she has cultivate the fanbase she has. Most of our favorite songs are deep cuts and NOT radio singles, or "what she is known for."

@nadinecarrier7717 10 months ago (edited)

now that she bought her masters back, she wrote another "love letter" to SB named "Father figure" ;)

Long Pond sessions are just wonderful. It was fascinating watching your reaction as you understand on a level that came through and made it even better.

Folklore is not only Taylor's finest album but I think it is the best album of the last 25 yrs. And the Long Pond Sessions is the ultimate performance of the album. Folklore is an album of sheer song writing brilliance....

@carolynnewcomb2153 10 months ago

What’s cool about the Folklore Long Pond studio sessions is that before each song is recorded in the studio like you’re seeing, she and Jack and Aaron sit together and talk about the meaning of the lyrics/ production talk etc. Really the best part of the Long Pond studio documentary and so worth checking out or reacting to so you really get the backstory of songs and see Taylor’s genius at work!!
