Two years ago, I introduced the Explorer here on the channel: a Sprinter van transformed into a complete motorhome, built with a lot of research, planning, engineering, and hands-on work.
That video reached nearly 2 million views. Many people followed the construction, commented, criticized, were inspired, and saw that it was possible to create a home on wheels spending much less than is normally seen in this market.
But one question could only be answered after putting it all on the road:
Would I do it all again?
After two years traveling with the Explorer, it's time to show the reality.
What really worked?
Which choices would I repeat?
Which equipment was worthwhile?
What would I change if I started today?
And what mistakes would I not make again?
In this video, I show the real experience of using this motorhome: the choice of the Sprinter as a platform, autonomy, solar energy, layout, comfort, equipment, maintenance, and also the things that seemed like a good idea in the project, but that the road showed to be different.
But this story isn't just about a van.
Building the Explorer was also a life decision.
More than R$200,000 was invested in a project that could be analyzed solely from a financial perspective: cost, depreciation, return on investment.
But there's a part of this equation that no spreadsheet shows: the experiences lived.
Because in the end, a motorhome isn't about the van.
It's about where it takes you.
And after two years I answer:
Was it worth it?
Would I do it all again?
