My biggest probelms with, and why i've always avoided, historicals in the past is the small model scale of a lot of systems (a huge part of the wargaming hobby for me is building, converting, and painting. And in that regard i despise 10 and 15mm infantry), and the mass scale of the battles, as in just the sheer number of models required for older historical systems. The more modern skirmish design queues creeping into systems like Pillage and Wargames Atlantics The Barons War (with a fantasy subsystem called Warhost) have got me to finally  take the plunge. Both companies really do make gorgeous models as well

As middle age creeps up on me, I find myself getting more interested in the Middle ages, is where I thought you were going

Excellent compact review of Pillage but my attention was caught by a throwaway photo that I think is much more interesting.  Romans in Oathmark.  Yes.  Could we hear more about that please?  Dare I even suggest a video on using Oathmark for historical battles.  Thanks, as always.

Pillage is a great game, I would also consider Barons War as the models can be used for both games although Pillage is Dark Ages and Barons war Medieval.

Hoorra to Noodle for this fantastic game, and thank you for this review.

Looks like a fun game.

LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!! thank you for sharing

Would love to see something like this for the ancients range from vitrix!

Great video. I picked up a couple sets from victrix just because I wanted to paint the models but I think I will give pillage a try soon too now

My group in Western Montana have recently picked the game up, and have really been enjoying it. Fast, fun, and lots of challenges(and curses) sent across the table!

Well done sir. Thank you.

I was looking for a good medieval vibe skirmish game that was a good middle ground between Greathelm - Barons War ❤

Pillage is really Cool!

I am about to be recuperating from an operation so I got myself the Pillage Intro set as a basis for that. Good set, and after I do the intro rules I can use them with other Skirmish rules as I am getting into a lot of that lately

Looking forward to what else Victrix do either the system, a fantasy version would be cool. I have the same issue as others with the current book, but will snap up a sorted one in the spot

Again, the intro set is a delight, a bargain

I've been looking at Pillage and Midgard and eventually bought Midgard. However, looking at this and your review, has made me think that I might grab the pdf of this as well. (Hardcover is $68 here in Canada and very hard to get, if I can find stock. )
I could see this being fun, kind of like a Viking frostgrave sort of think I could play with my sons. I originally thought this game was much more involved so I'm glad I saw your review.

Bought the book a month ago but had no time for it yet. But I got a lot of minis and terrain to play it. I guess I#ll give it a shot this fall. First I gotta try a game of Baron's War.

Are we filming tonight?

Can you cast Haste on a reluctant cow?

So it sounds a lot like lotr sbg with a bit of frostgraves extraction?

Please stop fuelling my hobby distractions. I must paint my armoured clash reinforcements…and my Alpha Strike Scouring Sands for Battletech…and my Epic warpath…
