The last NBA game before the 3-point line was introduced.

This was the last game played before the 3 pointer in the NBA.

Somebody a few years ago uploaded the entire game. If anybody out there has this game and the 4 other finals games or any games from the 78-79 season, please upload them. All us sonics fans would be proud.

Seattle Supersonics Forever..................OKC NEVER!!!

Man, Gus Williams, Freddy Brown and Dennis Johnson. what a back court!

Seattle fans made me fall in love with the Seahawks. Great fans in my other favorite city deserve their Sonics!!!! Former JBLM soldier here.

The Super Sonics should have never left Seattle!

Thanks for sharing this. As a Lakers fan, I remember the late 70's and never being able to beat Portland or Seattle in the playoffs. I had a lot of respect for those Sonics, though. Great team basketball.

I watched the game live on a 12 volt TV in our Dodge Van with my parents and brother at a drive in theater in Kenmore, Washington while the original Superman was playing on the screen outside! One of the coolest nights of my life! It was really super!

The coach’s wardrobes (especially Lenny Wilkins’s) are spectacular.

What a beautiful display of sportsmanship and class by the Bullets fans. Oh how times have changed. People forget how great these two teams were back then. This was a rematch. The Bullets had taken the '78 NBA Championship by beating Seattle 4-3. Seattle got their revenge though. These have to be the two most forgotten NBA championship teams in league history and they had HOF players on both sides. And in my opinion, that '96 Sonics team that played the Bulls would have been champs in any other era....except they were playing the greatest team in NBA history. Even though I'm from NY, I always respected the Sonics and was sad when they left for Oklahoma of all places. Shawn Kemp was one of my favorite players growing up. They really need to bring the Sonics back. They're a classic NBA franchise.

I listened to this game live on the radio as a 10 year old boy, growing up in Washington state. 40 years later, this is the first time I've seen it...

I know basketball was played for many decades without a three point line, but it's hard to imagine the game without a three point line. Watching this video, it feels like a whole different game without it.

People look at me crazy when I tell Dennis Johnson is my all time favorite NBA player.  Real talk.  I love defensive players and he was one of the best. R.I.P.

The whole Emerald City partied for days after this one! The vibe was electric everywhere you went. Seattle had not yet been "discovered" and gentrified. It was still funky, raw and rugged. Rainy, gritty, and lots of fun.

seattle is the last western conference teams that is not from texas or California to win the nba finals

I was born n raised in DC area...It was the last time washington Pro Hoops would be significant
Sad to say

"Downtown Freddy Brown" one of the greatest shooters ever.  He once bragged that he might have scored 100 points in a game if there was a 3-point line back then.  Thanks.

The Bullets make the NBA Finals three times in a five year span ('75-'79), winning once. ('78)

I love this cause it feels unique with no 3 point line, but it also is in very good quality

Sikma has to be the most underappreciated big man ever.
