Team India has successfully bounced back to take a crucial 2-1 series lead! Shreyas Iyer's Men in Blue held their nerve in an absolute high-scoring thriller at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, defending a massive total to defeat the West Indies by 14 runs in the 3rd T20I!
In this video, Pdogg and Vignesh break down all the boundary-hitting madness. We start with India's explosive first innings of 223 all out after West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl. Abhishek Sharma put on an absolute masterclass, smashing a blistering 69 off just 30 balls, launching 6 fours and 5 massive sixes to give India a flying start! Despite the sensational launchpad, the Indian middle-order suffered a collapse, losing seven wickets for just 99 runs, including two run outs. We analyze the Caribbean fightback led by Shamar Springer (2/50), Roston Chase (2/38), and Shamar Joseph (2/54), who managed to restrict the total and bowl India out on the final delivery of the innings.
Then, we shift focus to the West Indies' massive run chase. Arshdeep Singh (3/44) provided the perfect start with the new ball, dismissing captain Shai Hope early, while Naman Dhir (2/39) struck to remove the dangerous Shimron Hetmyer, who looked highly threatening with a fiery 43 off 26 balls. We break down the tight middle-overs squeeze by Axar Patel (1/33) and the sheer express pace of Mayank Yadav, who bowled a rapid opening spell hitting 148 kph. Despite a powerful 32 off 20 balls from Sherfane Rutherford and a terrifying, late onslaught from Shamar Springer—who blasted an unbeaten 35 off just 11 deliveries, including 22 runs in the final over—the Indian bowlers held their nerve. Arshdeep's clutch double-strike in the 18th over proved to be the turning point as the Windies were restricted to 209/7!
Let us know in the comments: Is Abhishek Sharma locking in his spot as India's permanent T20 opener? And can the West Indies bounce back in Hyderabad to force a series decider?
