Excellent video, thanks

Been subscribed for long. You explain things so clearly that even when working on incredibly different kinds of music, the tools and techniques still work, because you don't teach how to replicate your workflow, but how to build our own.

Keep up the good work, you rock!

This is exactly the kind of stuff I wish I could get more of with Ableton! Keep up the great work! I’ve always felt that it’s an amazingly powerful program but your videos have really drawn me to the benefits of ableton’s workflow, which I’ve always had issues with as a guitar player. Thank you again.

Thanks for drawing my attention to Rhythmic Steps. Wasn’t away of its depth. Definitely my type of tool to use. Wishing you well. CN

Didn't know about Rhythmic Steps. Will immediately be using it with my modular synth. Immediately.

Really enjoyed this video. I had stopped playing with sequencers for a while because they were way too robotic for my music style…. This video has rekindled my interest! Thanks!

Love every video of you!

Nice clear explanation 👍sbd

Wow, didn't even know about this device. Great demo!

New to your channel.... Very cool video! Thanks! Amazing!

Great video.

I guarantee you I'm subscribed! Did it the first time I saw one of your vids 😊

Fabulous job

lol I subscribed after that vid you did on the field recordings or something like that...speaking of which need to get back to that one 😁, you add that extra wonder and magic to music making and idea generation as well. Thanks

Fantastic video. Looks like a really fun device to play with. I’ll be exploring this one.

Thanks for - yet again - so much inspiration!

your endless string rack sounds awesome!!

legit didn't know it existed.........read the manual 📖 Nice one ZW you just opened up a whole new world for me !

First off, love your approach to experimentation and have been following your journey since some of your first videos. Keep it up brother!

As you mention at the end, it’s not a matter of better or worse. IMO comparing FL and Lives sequencers is like comparing apples to onions. FL is traditional, “linear”, and has the kind of visual feedback/GUI that only takes a glance to see what it is you’re gonna hear. Live on the other hand, is more… experimental; it’s not what drum programming has traditionally looked like.

I’m a Live guy through and through, but some of the QOL aspects of drum rack are just outdated. It’s the reason I still use maschine (which has its own flaws but is much closer to FL) as a plugin within ableton. Not being able to color individual channels (so that the midi notes are represented by the  color of the pad), export individual channel audio effortlessly, the clunky/roundabout routing options, etc are just outdated.

In fact, 99% of the time I use drum rack are for “musical” sample chops, not drums.

But, as your channel always seems to imply, if there is a will, there is a way!

Cheers!
