I’ve never smelled Vanille plantafolia but I really like vanilla aura. People forget that we all smell things differently and have different tastes.

@TheIntrovertedNatural 10 months ago (edited)

YouTube won't let me post the link but I think it started with the perfume siren saying that after she blasted vanilla aura that she was emailed and essentially bribed to say that she changed how she felt about it. And then insinuated that other influencers are being paid to say things and lie in their reviews

@nickimontie 10 months ago

Can we just enjoy the scents we like whether it smells like something else? I like my perfumes that are alleged dupes, but honestly, I’ve never smelled the originals for most of them!

You are a wise woman! Frankly, the story that started this chaos made sense because an influencer with integrity revealed that their company was trying to pay them to change their negative review. I have tremendous respect for that influencer. But when consumers start making such a fuss about a $30 purchase That in most cases, they have the option to return. It only tells you something: that they have nothing better in life to do. Thanks so much for addressing this in your wonderful video today!

I think it has something to do with the price and the psychology and marketing behind selling 'luxury' products. In luxury marketing, the advertiser has to "sell" a feeling, a picture for the person to envision themselves in. Luxury items sell the idea, 'not everyone can own me', 'you have arrived' , 'you are living above everyone else' 'only people like you deserve the best' etc etc ... And sadly, some...not all...but some people are addicted to those feelings. They want to feel a sense of elitism when they spend a lot on a fragrance. Then they justify that feeling by telling themselves it was purchased for the quality, ingredients, and how amazing the fragrance is because it is over 600 dollars. So when someone or something diminishes that feeling, or something basically shows up, especially for 30 dollars, and possibly proves that the price paid for the luxury item was, in fact, not justified...they become angry. This whole issue to me was not necessarily about the fragrance itself but about what the purchases of fragrances do for certain people psychologically. Otherwise, it just does not make sense for people to be so angry in their opinions.

I bought several Niche perfumes this year in the 300 to 500 range. The ones I bought had no counterpart in the affordable range at the time. However, one of them just had a dupe of it made this fall. I haven't smelled it, but I am not mad that there is a dupe. I am mad I didn't wait a little longer to get the dupe. 😂😂😂

Some of those that were angry, really need to analyze what made them angry... It takes a strong mind not to cave to the message behind luxury marketing.

I no nothing about Vanille Planifolia, but when I got Aura I hated it. It smelled like new rubber baby dolls. It was awful, but I did what I always do & let it sit for a week. It really settled down and now I truly love it. I dig powdery scents, though.

2:30 I have no idea what 99% of what any of the OGs smell like. I can’t afford OGs. So I just want perfumes that smell good. Thank goodness for dupes or schmoops or whatever. As long as the smell good, I’m happy.

Thank you 🤗🥰

This is why I learned what notes I'm attracted to, and which ones to approach with caution. I don't rely on reviews. Hype only brings a fragrance to my attention. If the scent pyramid is unappealing to my nose then it's a wrap. I trust my own nose. This has saved me money and the disappointment of failed blind buys 😳

I literally just learned about this perfume yesterday and hearing all the drama honestly peaked my interest in finding out more about it. I’m not a big fan of really sweet perfumes but from what everyone is describing it’s sounds like it has a nice balance of vanilla, woodsy, citrusy and other notes that sound really nice and for the price, I said why not try it, so I placed my order today and can’t wait to experience this for myself. If I don’t like it, I can always regift it to someone else💕

I have Vanilla Aura and absolutely love it. With the first spray, it took me straight back to the 80s…. I am looking forward to smelling it after maturation.

Love how you matched your outfit with the bottles!😍 so cute!! Ugh I also hate when fragrances get so controversial 😂 like everyone smells things differently and there is no right or wrong opinion when it comes to fragrance. People need to chill lol anyways I would love to smell both of these!!😅

I remember years ago Bath and Body Works had a carrot cake scented candle for Easter. Wish they would bring it back as body care 🥕🍰

Thank you for your review. Wow didn’t know that was going on lol but that’s why I don’t do TikTok. Plus I prefer long content

Hey, Aleisha.Happy Tuesday!

@Mamabearperfumechannel 10 months ago

Hey friend!🙋🏻‍♀️🥰🥰🥰
The drama behind vanilla aura is insane 😂 I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving🤗🦃💕

@tiamurrell963 10 months ago

Hi Aleisha, that's one of the reasons why I love you and your channel. You are honest and don't like the negativity that's happening.
I honestly don't think about buying dupes, I buy perfumes because I love the notes or how I imagine the perfume smells.
We all smell things differently, so let's enjoy talking about perfumes.
But I also have to admit that I am over the hype of perfumes and how ~You have to have this~type of reels. I also tend to be cautious about buying hyped perfumes unless I watch reviewers that I trust ( we all perceive scent differently )but you described the different perfume choices and from your descriptions I have bought the right scents for me, like Candy Coud and Al Absar Shahoor Intense for example 😊.
Love what you do and agree with you 💯.
Love, Tia ❤

I have 6 bottles of vanilla aura... its good smells expensive the longer it sits the better... first time wearing it I received 3 compliments within first hour and it lasts I love her tfs

@GlitterBunnyNL 10 months ago

First of all, you look extra stunning today! And secondly, how coincidental could it be that all Guerlain you mentioned happened to be my favs and I have them 😂😂😂 but the drama is kinda wild. Sometimes people tend to be a bit more jittery when other things are quite unpredictable out there. Little things can spin out of control but I am sure nothing is serious ❤❤❤
