One little thing is that Mephiles has a little narrative in Shadow Gens. For so long, he craved nothingness and in Gens, he got it only to realize how horrible it actually is. It kinda also adds another layer to his desperation

He got what he deserved. He tried to destroy existence, now he no longer exists.

Although, this does open up a lot of ideas. Like what else that was once canon, is just existing in the void?

More accurately, the “true Solaris” took Elise and Sonic back in time to erase itself to prevent all the destruction to the world.

That original voice, was true evil
I always forget Mephilies and Sonic never interacted in 06, from Sonic's perspective he was stabbed in the back and fell over

It's unsettling when you realize all of the "Corruption" goo everywhere, came from his seal.
Is so powerful that even sealed behind a time gate in the stick of dank. He all things considered, hasn't even been there that long, I doubt itll hold him forever.

Timer eater: Wassup... who are you?
Mephiles: I'm going to destroy the timeline and all of reality:
Also Time eater: Just gonna lock this one up extra tight annnnnnnnd. What is the hedgehog doing? WHAT IS HE DOING!?

WELL WHEN YOU REMEMBER WHAT MEPHILIS DID...

HE DESERVES ALL OF THIS.

Shadow Generations and Mephiles' portrayal in it made Mephiles my favorite Sonic villain. Robbie Daymond's performance is so good. I do wish that Dan Green had gotten to voice this version of Mephiles though

Let him exist, Sega!

"Tragic" is quite an overstatement for the heavenly crimes this guy has committed

The one thing I’d change is how Mephilis got to the Void. Remember Eggman was trying to wipe Sonic from existence. The Void is what happens to creations when it’s removed from existence. So when Mephilis is removed from the timeline, then he should’ve been vanished to the Void.

So the Time Eater doesn’t drag Mephilis into this, nor does Black Doom (the one responsible for Shadow Generations). Mephilis was buried in the Void and sealed away. Eggman’s and Black Doom’s antics merely unearthed him.

Although Metal Sonic will always be my favorite villain in this series, Mephiles is definitely top-tier.

I always forget that MEPHILES AND SONIC NEVER INTERACTED. Sonic got stabbed by someone he doesn't even know!

Honestly they cooked with mephiles in this game
His resentment towards shadow still burning
His desperation to exist
Him literally becoming the "i want to LIVE!!!!!" SpongeBob meme (no I will NOT stop saying that about him and NO ONE will change my mind)
And him finally going ALL OUT, because (correct me if I'm wrong) we never see him "unleash" before, right? (Like we see in 12:41 , where he does a little dbz -esc powerup )

06 Mephiles: A calm and calculating god that will get u to do the dirty work
Gen Mephiles: I want to become a real boi papa

we know
with Sonic and Elise found out that Solaris is unkillable, so they went back in time and she blows solaris off like a candle
so which means Blaze is still alive, Silver never met Sonic and Shadow and Shadow didn’t remember Mephiles or haven’t heard about the scepter of darkness

Mephiles is the ultimate example of how being a victim doesn't make you a good person.

Solaris was tortured until he was riped apart in Iblis and Mephiles, and Mephiles only knew pain ever since he was borned since the first thing he does is run away from the laboratory that tortured him and now these two hedgehogs he doesn't know who are trying to trap him again, even when he is about to be sealed he said "what? stop" the guy was literally born with hatred since that is all he knew. The result? He tried to kill not everyone, but everything.

His hatred is understandable, but not justified. Just because he is a victim doesn't means he isn't evil, he is HELLA evil and he should remained sealed. I still blame the duke of Soleanna for this, those guys violated Solaris when they were supposed to care for him, bunch of dumbasses almost got everything destroyed for selfishness

I still think mephiles has a chance to come back as the main villain someday because he is just way too popular, and Sega knows this, the boss fights in this game are great, but the attention to detail and care in this boss fighting is on another level especially when it comes to the narrative, and there are a few things that now make the chances much greater.

Mephiles is indeed a Shadow villain and not Sonic, Shadow was originally intended to never come back after Sonic Adventure 2 but he was just too popular, so Sega brought it back in Heroes.

and Shadow in that game had a bigger role in that game than Sonic himself, then he got his own game, and in 06 he was also more important than Sonic, he was basically the New main character in the 3D games, then you had the Sonic only playable era, but thanks to the success of Sonic x shadow generations and the final horizons update making other characters playable again I think this will happen again, so mephiles would be a perfect villain for that new era

And Sega revealed that they are interested in making a Sonic 06 remake.

And Sega also revealed that a Sonic Movie 4 is going to be made, even if it's a character like Metal Sonic in the post credit scene, I'm pretty sure they're never going to stop making movies because they're just too successful, so we're probably going to get a Silver movie at some point, and I'm pretty sure they're going to use the events from 06 and not from rivals

He got too tilted at the towers due to being friendzoned because he is a gamer

wtf i never knew the sonic 06 lore is this dark and complicated, this makes me really want a sonic 06 remake or the next sonic movies to be about sonic 06.

Mephiles deserves everything he got, 100%. He’s a monster that desired destruction, and had the ghaul to claim he was doing it as “revenge” against humanity, essentially mocking Shadow. There’s also the fact he literally lied about Sonic being Iblis, and Shadow being defeated by Omega and captured cause of it, yes, we know he shows Shadow what will happen, and he tells Omega, but, considering the Sonic thing was fake, whose to say he wasn’t bullshitting to Shadow or Omega? But, what’s scary is that, he’s possibly still out there, trapped, but never gone. He could’ve been able to escape, heck, it seems like even White Space wanted to keep him out, but couldn’t due to the purple sludge
