Before your declutter ANYTHING, do this.

Do you have clothes in your wardrobe that you keep passing over?

You liked them enough to buy them. Maybe you were even excited to bring them home. But every time you get dressed, you reach for something else.

Before you declutter your wardrobe, I want you to try something: actually wear the clothes you keep avoiding.

In this video, I wear some of the least-worn clothes in my wardrobe and see what happens when I stop judging them from the hanger and actually put them into my real life. I look at fit, function and feeling, and what these neglected pieces can teach us about personal style, wardrobe efficiency and buying less.

I also discovered something I wasn't expecting: wearing these clothes made some of my ordinary days feel a little more special. A casual dinner felt like an occasion. A trip to the shops felt more like a date. And all I had done was change my top.

This is really what I mean by more style with less stuff — not owning a perfect capsule wardrobe or getting rid of everything you don't wear, but understanding your clothes better, making your wardrobe work for your real life, and becoming more intentional about what you buy and keep.

If you're interested in personal style, wardrobe decluttering, wardrobe essentials, building a functional wardrobe, buying less, shopping more intentionally, signature style, outfit repeating and getting more wear from the clothes you already own, I hope this video gives you something useful to try.

🌸 A NOTE ON ENCLOTHED COGNITION

In this video I mention enclothed cognition, a term introduced by researchers Hajo Adam and Adam D. Galinsky in their 2012 paper Enclothed Cognition. Their research proposed that clothing can influence the wearer's psychological processes, with the effect involving both the symbolic meaning associated with the clothing and the physical experience of wearing it.
