Art is critical to the success of board games, we know this. But... How?
This video is just a series of musings regarding popular board games, and how the art creates meaning. It's hard to define characteristics, and how something ethereal, like soul, is made. There's a lot of grey area, and a lot of complexity I touch on, and it's easy to make a 6 hour podcast about each aspect. So, it's a shorter board game video than what I'm used too, but we still touch on some of the best games. As always, thank you for watching.

I reskinned the game as "Glory To Arstotzka", themed around Papers Please. I opened up GIMP and designed a card template with images and symbols online I found related to the game. I copied all the mechanics & cards from the Love Letter deck with names and art replaced with characters from Papers Please, and I added flavor by changing the term referring to removing a player to "detain". I printed the cards out, put them in sleeves, and taught them the game.
They loved it.
