A friend of mine bought It in Spain, the Engage+ 75 kWh version.
He is very Happy with It. I fully recommend this mid spec because is like 4.000 € cheaper than top spec, smaller wheels that grand more range, and still has got lots of equipment, including the Heat pump and rear camera 360° etc.
The range is impressive, consumption levels are really good. Range anxiety is over now.

I like that it a proper dashboard instead of the nailed on ipad look that many manufacturers are going for these days, the only thing I don't like is the black plastic around the wheel arches.

Shop around and you'll get this starting at under £25k for the 52kWh version Engage in the UK. If you spec up an EV 3 with equivalent features: 360 cameras, heat pump, heated steering wheel, etc. LEAF is cheaper in the UK. 6 year warranty now is standard on Nissan EVs so more competitive with Kia, MG and Hyundai now there too.

Screen is designed to be controlled from scroll wheels while driving. Would be interested to see what efficiency you get at different speeds. Reports from US and Japan are positive about efficiency even at motorway speeds. You can also create a custom user profile for removing all the sounds that annoy you while driving, then recall your settings with two clicks on the steering wheel. Really simple and convenient compared to some of the Chinese EVs.

When I looked at pricing when initially announced, you were basically paying the same price in Ireland for the small battery as UK market were being asked for the big battery. Deals and discounts on list prices much better/more available in the UK market too so the real price difference there is probably even greater. Killed any interest that I had in it. We're eternally fleeced here. Sister car the Megane e-Tech was similarly overpriced on launch here but got "adjusted" when Scenic was coming to market

In the UK the Leaf is a competent car with a long EV pedigree. Price is not super competitive but it is offset by the full “made locally” grant. The price in Ireland looks like a sales killer. Maybe part of the reason is any inbound tariff into the EU but apart from that I can not see why it is so expensive. On the car itself I think Nissan have a good balance between proper buttons and screen UI, though I agree the infotainment is adequate rather than whizzy. Maybe buy your Leaf in the UK and grey import it?

As you said lovely car but its far too expensive for what you get. I have gen 2 leaf solid but old tech now. Will not change to another Nissan.

Odd pricing. The Nissan Ariya (Engage trim, 63kWh) starts at €39,995 - simple Google research. Wouldn't that be better value than the entry level Leaf 52kWh?

Also, it's the Grand Old Duke of York's 10,000 men who were up (when they were up) and down (when they were down). I believe this nursery rhyme has been removed from the market in recent years, while they attempt to find a more suitable Duke.

After the many stories of Nissan refusing warranty repairs on the previous Leaf batteries (not acknowledging faulty cells mainly) I'd be very careful buying another EV from them.

Would have been a great car 2 or 3 years ago. Too small for the money. And that's the loudest boot opening I've ever heard. We have a 2024 leaf we love but they are really behind with this.

Buttons look so cheap!
I looked at v2 of the Leaf, but it was too heavy on the brakes. Later heard so many horror stories on warranty rejections. Disappointing.
