If Ilia gets his face cracked open in the same way, he might not be around long enough to fight Paddy. Not everybody is as tough as Bisping when they lose an eye. I won money on Justin, had no doubt he would win.
Paddy is pretty tough too, let's see it NEXT, but Ilia needs more time to heal, whether he admits it or not. He just didn't get beaten, he got broken.

What relevance does that have to the hypothetical outcome of a fight between Paddy and Ilia?

styles make fights, and Ilia’s style is very problematic for Paddy.
1- Paddy is a big guy for the division, but he lacks knockout power relative to his size. Consequently, he wouldn't command Topuria's respect, nor could he halt Topuria's advance into close range the way Justin did with his punching power.
2- Paddy has zero defense, he blocks punches with his face. What do you think will happen when Ilia’s combinations land over and over? A tough chin might hold up for a while, but it doesn't last forever. Max Holloway had never been knocked out before, and hasn't been since his fight with Topuria, either. If you look closely, Paddy was very close of being knocked out by Justin in the first round he was very very close.
3- Paddy has good grappling but terrible wrestling. To use your grappling, you first have to take your opponent down, Paddy couldn't take Justin down even once. Yet Topuria even while blinded in Round 4,took him down with ease.
Even if the fight went to the ground, Topuria has the tools to neutralize Paddy, he reversed position on Charles Oliveira, avoided being finished, and passed his guard easily.
Topuria is better than Paddy in every area.
