I was always a Metal head. But I grew up in the 90s and I always like Alanis. If I could talk to her, Id tell her how this song brought me peace in Iraq in 2006. I use to listen to it, when I was allowed to sleep. Trying to sleep in a war zone can be complicated. So I once I got to PX, I was looking for a CD to play while sleeping, something soothing that could help me drown out the noise and sleep. Her greatest hits CD was the best I could find. I knew the song and purchased the CD for that single song. I would pop it in my CD player, find the track, and set it to repeat. Amongst all the chaos, Amongst the fear, Amongst all the violence, I could come off a patrol, and if allowed time to sleep, this song help to bring me rest and the only PEACE I ever knew from the mean mean streets of Fallujah and Ramadii. Thank You Alanis , you brought me peace in a Combat Zone.
What a good sport! She didnt ruin the concert for everyone just because there was one moron in the crowd. She took me back to my younger days.. loved to listen to her and Sheryl crow
The best part of this clip is her reaction to being hit by a bottle at 1:21, just listen to the way she delivers the lyrics after being hit, and then after 20 seconds or so she stops looking in their direction and carries on with the song, singing, “How bout how good it feels to finally forgive you.” Just a smile, and then finishes the set, beautiful.
