It was an absolute honor to help profile Craig Biggio and produce this piece alongside Republic Ranches, one of our favorite clients at Deer Camp Digital. Growing up in Texas, I looked up to Biggio like so many of us did. Getting to help tell the stories of legendary Texans and iconic properties is something we don’t take lightly. At Deer Camp Digital, we specialize in digital strategy, video production, and web development for ranches, outfitters, and outdoor brands, and this one meant a great deal to our team. Lots more coming for the 'Behind The Gates' series!

Make sure Craig knows that 2005 was incredible for all of us and he is right… Jeff was my favorite player and watching him get a hit off of Bobby Jenks and the World Series meant more to me than anything else in the world!

Great down to earth guy. I’ve ran into him at the archery shop several times. And I’ve respected his privacy out in public as well.

Craig Biggio was what we'd call "a gamer." 110% effort always. I don't ever recall seeing him finish a game with a clean uniform. And that batting helmet he wore? That thing had so much pine tar on it, you could barely make out the Astros logo on the front. 😂 My all-time favorite Astro.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at a state softball tournament in Sweeney our daughters were playing in, but in different divisions, he and his family were truly nice people. I treated him like a softball dad, not a pro baseball player he truly appreciated that.

One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Spent a number of very enjoyable days with him and his wonderful family watching our sons play baseball. Spent a lot of time talking about ranching and hunting.

Aside from being a great baseball player. What an inspiration as a person and to see his compassion to pleasing others! The simple things that bring him happiness such as “watching a young person’s smile of riding a 4wheeler for the first time”. I for one can relate to that after seeing my grandkids faces over the years.
Continued success and blessings to you and your family. Thank you for sharing great memories of your ranch life. A huge Thanks for your loyalty and years of playing baseball for the Astros. God bless.

He's right about the outdoorsman part. I once worked on Woody Williams ranch and it was a hunters Paradise. He had a side by side that he had purchased from Craig Biggio in his garage. Had Craig's name on it and everything. These legends are just having fun after the stadium lights go out just like any of us would want to do.
