"Because you didn't think I'd do it."

That hit hard

Tsundere-ass Wolverine wants to hang out but can't just SAY THAT.

Btw, no questions asked, Peter shows up for Logan on every birthday of his after this. The goat, man

Even with someone as bitter and rough as wolverine I'm glad at least spiderman could be there for him in the story and see the good in him

The X-Men know that Wolverine is the best at what he does.
Spidey thinks he can be better...
I think Wolverine finds that intriguing, it's both incredibly naïve and yet gives him a light to guide himself by.

Centuries of pain and trauma and he still wants to be a good guy even when he knows he can’t.

And this is how he spends his birthday, just trying to keep his friend alive the only way he knows how.

Every birthday wolverine has to worry bout sabertooth...It had to be spidey because spiderman would dog walk sabertooth😂

8:24 "You see me smiling?" Must be one of the most terrifying things you can hear from Spider-Man. 😂

Spidey kissed his best friend's girl?  Logan would NEVER do that!  Logan and Scott ain't friends.

You know you fucked up when you've somehow managed to piss off Wolverine AND Spider-Man. 😭

Honestly after this issue, I had the headcanon that, during the times sabertooth is dead or indisposed(which I think is a lot of the time in my opinion), Wolverine invites only Spidey to hang out on these more peaceful birthdays for the same reasons here, and knowing Peter he would 100% get Logan a gift after knowing that it's his birthday. Spacificly either some new alcohol, cigars, or even some random little nitnack that Logan might find entertaining.

And he leaves these gifts anyways, all of them wrapped in Spider-Man wrapping paper to tell Logan who it's from, on Logan's less than happy birthdays wherever he is at in hopes it may cheer him up a little.

No one can change my mind about this headcanon, no one!

Logan might be a tough guy but he sees Peter as a friend, he'll vouch for him. I think this is part of it, the fact Peter can see the good in people, in him and believes he can be a good person is one reason why he cares about him. Spiderman is one of those guys that will be there for you when it counts.

Spider-Man: I don't know if you can relate to this, but I made the moves on my buddy's girl and feel guilty even though I really like her.

Wolverine: Bub, I thought you knew me. That's 90% of my relationship conflicts.

Honestly, it makes it seem like Logan sees Peter as a younger brother. One that he tries not to show too much empathy or care, but deep down he'd slaughter the world if he lost Spidey.

Every year Sabertooth does something horrible to Wolverine on his birthday, so Wolverine tries to be alone on those days or risk other ppl becoming collateral damage.

I love the artstyle for this comic, especially how Spidey is drawn

I have a hard time believing Peter doesn't have an insulated winter costume.

This ended up surprisingly wholesome in the end, I usually expect Spidey to leave these encounters with Wolvy peeved and or traumatized but this just goes to show how valuable a person Spidey is not just in the battlefield but on a personal level.

The expression of the bartender "aw shit, here we go again" lol
