These players have similarities in play style, but what makes Jokic exceptional is that he can get his numbers without dribbling the air out of the ball, and his teammates get their touches. This is evidenced
by the fact that Jokic has been ranked as high as 10th in usage pct once this decade, while Luka has been outside of the top 2 in the league in Usage pct only twice. Just because all of these guys can rack up
triple doubles easily, that doesn't mean their paths to getting there are alike. I ahve also never heard of a player trying to get away from Jokic like Porzingis tried to get away from Luka, or like Kyrie tried to get
away from LeBron. Also, no team has won multiple titles in the 2020's. Jokic's team has played in two western conference finals and won one NBA title. So what does success look like if the Nuggets have not

It is also an extremely odd take to claim that player "X" does not need player "Y" to score. Technically, no professional NBA player should be reliant on another NBA player to score. But it is the job of an elite playmaker
to make the scorer's job easier, and make the entire offense more efficient by extension. I don't think it's a coincidence that Kelsey Mitchell, an 8 year WNBA veteran, is having her most efficient season scoring
the ball by far, in Caitlin Clark's first full non-rookie season. Mitchell was an elite scorer since her college days. She didn't just figure out how to put the ball in the hoop in recent years. Aliyah Boston is also
quietly having her highest scoring season and highest PER season this year as well.  Give me one example of LeBron going to a team and the other two stars on the team then have their scoring and efficiency increase.

I say all of that to say this. While it's very enticing to paint all of these players with the same broad brush in order to prove a point, the situation is much more complex and nuanced than you're making it out to be.
Each of these players are different and they affect their teams and teammates in different ways. And they each have had varying levels of success playing their style. While I agree very generally that it is less than
ideal for the leading scorer of a team to also be the leading playmaker, some teams have had success playing that style depending on the offensive system they have, the types of players on the team, and the level
of competence of the coaching staff. It is far easier to construct a dynasty with a more democratic style offense, where the offensive responsibilities are more widely distributed among different members of the
team. But when Isiah Thomas led the Pistons to back to back titles in the late 1980's, he was also the leading scorer and playmaker on those teams.

Imagine that MJ had his scoring slowed by plPhil and he was still dropping 33 in the playoffs

Kobe pointed this out when he was alive.  Everyone playing accidental basketball is stupid and doesn't win chips.  Hence why Lebronze has his record.  At the same time.... you need the skillset to run a triangle to make the defense react to your dominance like a Kobe and MJ ... without that offensive dominance and complete game.   The triangle won't work.

This is why I have a hard time respecting Steph right now, he knows what Kerr is doing and he wants Kerr to continue doing what he’s been doing.

NBA is about money and popularity. Players know that stats earn contracts and earn them respect. That's why Luka, LeBron Harden etc play the way they do. If players cared solely about winning they would play totally different and their stats wouldn't be as impressive

You’re spot on Mel. MJ was one of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen from the jump but he played with less talented teammates including Pippen.

If you disagree just look at Pippen’s career numbers; his numbers are average. Bosh and Love averaged what Pippen averaged for his career.

The Triangle allowed the Cartwrights, Grants, Buechlers, Kerr’s, Wenningtons, to know their role and score when necessary/ needed.

The problem with Lebron is he believes he is above the system because his game is so limited.
All the coaches he’s had have been for his teammates and NOT him.
