i have dozens of brand new 360 Green & 370 Yellow cards. thew were two versions of the green cards. I used to teach IBM mainframe Operating systems concepts at NYU in NY. also was a systems programmer for the nations largest bank
If you program in CICS Macro Assembler there were registers reserved for CICS. It was challenging to write fast system tools for CICS in Assembler. What I did was to keep the entire code inside a single page because you would lose some space for storing the register data into the memory. The less data you needed to write to memory and keep in the register the faster the program ran. In the 1980s speed was important when the Payroll programs were hogging all the resources.
Used to work in IBM S/360-S/370 world during 1970s & early 1980s - have been looking for the infamous "Green Card" for years, but can't find one anywhere; also the IBM user manual for assembly language control of the machine; also the MACRO assembler manual - any ideas where I could find these historic artifacts ?
