WHY ARE TAXES AN OBLIGATION FOR WORKING PEOPLE BUT A “PUNISHMENT” FOR RICH PEOPLE?

The perception of taxation as a punishment rather than simply fulfilling a civic duty exposes how profoundly broken the system has become.

why is it "punish them with taxes" when referring to the super rich, but not when everyone else has no choice.

My grandfather was an 8th grade educated sheet metal worker. He was able to own a home, put two kids through college, had a pension,good insurance, retirement, etc. All on a single income. That money all went to our .01% over the last few decades.

The best moment was when they asked him "when has this ever worked" and he said 1955 USA and both were silenced and didn't know what to say.

Tax a Multi-Billionaire an additional 20% and they'd still be a Multi-Billionaire. Tax a working class individual and additional 20% and they're chosing between eating and heating. Only an international effort to close the legal loopholes would see ethical economics.
