My wife read this one in January and just listening to her, and now you talk about it...the book sounds like one heck of a wild ride.

Redemption's theme is the reason I love this book.

I love your reviews. It's not just the books, but seeing your face, and seeing you excited about people and animated about stories... All of it is so great. You also rarely lose your train of thought, despite the tangles. Thanks Alana.

I've been reading East of Eden every decade of my life since I was a teenager.  It's a book that you can reread many times, and you will always learn something new. The characters always stay with you. Thank you for the review.  I write all up in my books, too.

It’s fate. My favorite booktube personality dropping a review on the book i literally just started today. Crazy

I really appreciated your analysis. You didn't waste time making it about yourself, yet your personality is strong in your delivery. Love itttt

Just finished this book. So good. So intricately interwoven with the same themes through multiple generations.

Cathy is cray lol that's one of the best descriptions of her ive heard and spot on. Great book, and there is a great film from the 80s with Jane Seymour as Cathy. I definitely recommend it.

I just ordered East of Eden. I hope to finish before the Netflix series based on East of Eden drops. Another excellent review BTW.

I really love your channel! Such a rare gem to have a relatable YouTuber going into very detailed analysis of books. ❤

You reminded me how much this reminded me of Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet.

My two favorite characters were Faye and Lee. Faye was just a principled woman for what job she held.

I just finished this book a few hours ago. I'm not religious in a personal level in the least so I didn't dive into the symbolism or understand it at all. I'm also pretty plot oriented so I needed some more substance in terms of plot. I couldn't catch any of the nuances and moral questions so I'm so glad to hear you talk about it.

I love your reviews. So far, Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden.
Your knowledge of the Bible and also, knowing that you don’t SAY the name of a person … 😚
So well articulated and reviewed.

Lovely edition of East of Eden, love how the pattern spills into the white on the cover.

I enjoyed your review. Well done. This novel is pretty amazing. The story, the characters and the writing are all first rate. It is a classic for good reason. This novel and Lonesome Dove are my top two of all time.

I have a deep love of names and their meanings and what that means to our lives. The fact that Father God and Jesus both gave new names and that in the Old Testament Jesus is known by many names and the Israelites won't dare speak the name of God - It's endlessly fascinating to me.
Great review! I could easily have listened longer🤗

Steinbeck certainly does not mince words. I admire his highly moral convictions.

I read this book in January because I heard Netflix was doing an adaptation, and it’s one of those great books if you’re a literary person you really should have read.

This book lives up to the hype. I’ve read and loved some of Steinbeck’s shorter works, but this book is so layered. The way it uses the Bible as its foundation then becomes its own form of American mythology is so powerful. One of the best reads I’ve had in a while, and you are completely accurate in your takes on it.

I read East of Eden last  Month. I loved it.

Great review, definitely will read Steinbeck this year. Also, I really love your channel.
