Birds Are Living Dinosaurs — Here’s the Fossil Evidence
The Dinosaur Record
666 views
A pigeon is not merely descended from dinosaurs. It is a dinosaur.
Fossil feathers, wishbones, folding wrists, air-filled bones, and preserved nests reveal why.
This video traces birds deep into the theropod family tree and examines the evidence connecting living birds with dinosaurs such as Velociraptor. You’ll see how Archaeopteryx combined flight feathers with teeth, claws, and a long bony tail; what China’s feathered fossils changed; how quill knobs reveal feathers that were not preserved; and why bird-like breathing and brooding began before true birds appeared.
We also examine the 2025 description of the Chicago Archaeopteryx, why the asteroid did not turn dinosaurs into birds, and how one dinosaur lineage survived the end-Cretaceous extinction.
