Makhachev went to deep waters in this game and fought a fight where the fight wasnt going his way and still won almost every round i think his mentalitly is his best weapon
Illia was so annoying. I’m so glad he lost. Islam already beat Volkanovski twice. There was no incentive for Islam to welcome yet another featherweight champion for a chance at the lightweight belt. If anyone deserved to move up, it was Islam who had already defensed the lightweight championship multiple times.
Edit: yo so many people triggered in these comments. This wasn’t meant to be a debate forum. I just don’t believe Illia should have been given an opportunity to move up to lightweight while Islam was the champion since Islam had already defended his belt against the featherweight champion. Especially since 145 has plenty of contenders he didn’t fight.
Edit: LMAO why are so many of you triggered by someone being happy about a fighter you like losing? Are you new fans? Have you been around mma fans before? I’ve been watching my favorites get finished while other people gleefully cheered for like 15 years. Get over it.
Justin said no rematch. The man talked and acted like Justin wasn't even the same realm as him. Like Justin was no competition at all. He got whooped, humbled and "quit" to most. And even after he lost he said the stoppage was early? The man doesn't deserve the rematch.
As much as I thought Topuria would dominate Justin, watching him start to slow down after two rounds from constantly pushing Justin backward just reminded me how incredible Khabib was. Khabib applied relentless pressure to Justin for the entire fight and never even looked like he was breathing hard.
