This is 100% feelgood. All the way down to the writing of the names. And Dorothy Killgallen forever a hero, never to be forgotten. If you haven't already you are obliged to watch a documentary on her. She is a saint.
During my high school years 1959 - 1963 I watched most episodes of WML after church Sunday nights. I still recognize about 99.9% of all the people on the program; probably less than 1% of them are still alive today, and no one younger than about 50 would know any of them. (I never heard of Mr Houk.) Once they had an old man who at age 5 had witnessed the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in 1865, that's 155 years ago. He said he had felt sorry for that poor man who broke his leg.
People in the past, both contestants and panel, were so charming, polite, mannerly and respectful. They make you want to know them and interact with them ❤
This show to me is like mashed potatoes and meat loaf, what I consider comfort food. It just always makes me feel good to watch. I was born just 19 days before this show aired.
