you kneel on salt / rice / mungbean with ur arms spread to the side probably with books or something heavy to balance while you ask for forgiveness lol

the rock salt dude
you will be forced to kneel on it as a punishment for your bad/worst deed
like grades failed in school or when you broke something expensive in the house🤣
1990's filipino culture dude😎

Filipinos tend to leave a little bit of food behind coz 1)they don't wanna be the one to "finish the dish", 2)everyone wants to leave something for someone. Both reasons can be summed up as "wanting to share" though.😅

I think people forget when talking about the Philippines as a former Spanish colony that it was through Mexico and not direct from Spain (Acapulco-Manila Galleons) so it explains a lot of the connections

All Souls Day is actually pretty crazy here... I mean cemetarys are full-pack... it's like going to a concert... it's even hard to go from one place to the other because there are just sooo much people..

and YES there used to be Karaoke everywhere BUT it's already prohibited because I mean you can just imagine everyone bringing their equipment in the freakin cemetery and it's just noisy... a lot of people actually don't mind I mean it's like an accepted reality but not everyone does so I gues those few ones who complained actually initiated the prohibition... it''s also undestandable because not everyone has the same way of observing the All Souls Day... others want to make it happy while others are solemn...

The all souls days goes all the way back to when Mexico as part of Nueva España governed the Philippines as part of Spain.

9:21 it's always funny in their every videos when one of them says 'my' father or 'my' mother, like they have different parents 😂

Rock salt and monggo are the classic discipline tools of Filipino parents. They made us kneel on it and made us spread out our arms wide with 2 - 3 books in each hand while they sat in front holding a leather belt or a hanger with a tiger look.. haha

I remembered when my mom heard me mimicking the singer at 4 years old she started teaching me how to sing... Kailangan Kita by Piolo Pascual
Everyday... She'll make me sing again and again.. 3x a day.. then take some water to dehydrate my throat.. and yeah... In 19 years...now I can proudly say that I belong to those 90% Filipinos who can sing😆😅

13:00 Thanks the Mexicans actually, because of our close ties due to the Manila Galleon they brought their traditions to us and food like Champorado

5:59 they made us kneel on it with our arms stretched to the side while holding something heavy at both end. Usually books, but it could be other things too.

11:30, when the Philippines was under the Spanish rule, it was under the Viceroyalty of New Spain. New Spain’s capital is in Mexico. There were regular Galleon Trade between Acapulco and Manila.

This is only for families that are close knit with each other with no fights that holds grudges

We are cousins…Pinoys and Latinos

🤣🤣🤣OMG, everything on this video is what happens normally in a Filipino home.  I love how Efra and Waleska were cracking up so hard🤣🤣🤣

They make you kneel on rock salt for an hour or 2

Filipino culture is pretty similar to a lot of former Spanish colonies, ESPECIALLY Mexico. Some of Mexican culture made their way to ours

All Souls’ Day came from Europe through the Catholic Church in Spain and Rome, and both Mexico and the Philippines adopted it through Spanish influence. Mexico transformed the Spanish Catholic tradition into something uniquely Mexican, while Filipinos kept the more traditional, solemn, and prayer-focused practice.

Frigidaire is the first brand of refrigerator  that was introduced in the Philippines by the Americans, and our forefathers (1930s) called it 'fridge' but now we called it 'ref'

6:23 our parents will make us kneel on the salt on the ground for hours, and when you have bruises because of kneeling onto it for so long it will cause the pain more painful. 😅
