Maybe the real ninja is hidden in the draw distance we found along the way.

Excited for Tenchu wrath of heaven review in 3 years

I love that suddenly the voice actors become Italian as soon as they need to pronounce a Japanese name.

50:52 I actually like that she resorts to calling him such a dumb insult, because she called him an ignoramus first and he's too dumb to even understand that it's an insult, so she has to resort to putting it in terms he'd understand. Which actually works, because based on his distraught "No!," "drooling idiot of idiot land" completely devastates him, where the more sophisticated insult completely fails.
So she actually did show him.

The villain just wants the ninjas to be accepted as equal
The villain in their first speech : A WORLD RULED BY NINJAAA!

52:05 Regarding the metallic "twang" in the back that you are referring to, that's because the whole "Quarantine Village" arc got massively censored and changed overseas. In the original Japanese release, there is a deeper story regarding the presence of the Quarantine Village, with more images in the cutscene. Not only that, but the metallic twang was added as a last minute addition after removing the original "background sound" which was about people moaning in pain and occasionally throwing up.

realistically agreeing with villain lady basically boils down to "do you agree with big boss?" because she is literally just creating outer haven/diamond dogs. she's not gonna stop being a ninja she's simply gonna either turn ninjas into mercs that arent directly under any lord or become a faction of war in her own right, like a ninja union were they have better benefits and more backing

"A world ruled by ninjas, where we no longer have to hide in the shadows" is like... It's like saying you seek "A world ruled by gardeners, where we no longer have to tend to the plants".
That's not a ninja revolution that's just a job change to warlord.

30:00 Rifling, which increases the effective range of a projectile by causing it to spin, seems pretty superfluous in a world in which people can only see 3 metres in front of themselves.

Campbell, Meryl, and the premise of Outer Heaven as the villain's goal.

It was GROUNDBREAKING. Three separate characters + campaigns. Mission mode missions and Mission editor. I played this game hard for 3 years and never got bored or ran out of content.

I can't believe Tatsumaru committed sashimi.

24:45 that noisy floor is a reference to the 'nightingale floor.' it is constructed as a security measure against assassins by using purposely bent beams and hollow spaces that squeak loudly when stepped on. they're exceedingly rare, if not downright mythical, so I imagine there only being one in the game is actually purposeful cultural consideration just like the gates

that 10second ad was better than a 1 minute ad because i did not skip

3 whole years I’ve waited for this, cant believe my eyes

Another cultural reference in the game is that the Lords of the Burning Dawn (aside from Kagami) are all references to the Four Auspicious Beasts. Seiryu the Azure Dragon, Suzaku the Vermillion Bird, Byakko the White Tiger, and Genbu the Black Tortoise. Though it is interesting that Seiryu and Suzaku and Byakko match their Beast colors but Genbu's color is green instead of black.

Rikimaru plot: kinda bland
Ayame plot: kinda goofy
Tatsumaru plot: JESUS

I remember creating a campaign of custom missions for this game called STEEP. Pretty much we created a bunch of pit falls over the map and you had to avoid them. My friend and I started to come up with a backstory for it where you played as an evil ninja trying to stop the Shogun’s floating fortress. Then the memory card with all of the missions got erased 😢

40:12
> Says she wants a world ruled by ninja
> Immediately gets annoyed by ninja being ninja

This is hilarious

51:38 „sick people gonna die soon anyway so why safe them??“  - Damn Josh didn’t know you could be that cold hearted 😀
