Master shipwright Louis Sauzedde spent years waiting for the right moment to bring one of his own boat designs to life. When that moment finally came, he began turning raw lumber into a traditional wooden skiff — combining generations of boatbuilding knowledge with clever modern techniques.
From vacuum-laminating the white oak transom and shaping the hull by hand to building a layered V-bottom reinforced with fiberglass, almost every stage reveals a different solution to a difficult problem. Along the way, Louis relies on carefully selected timber, laminated structural parts, custom fittings, and small tricks learned through decades of working with wood.
