Elena seems strong. She's building a career, taking on responsibility, and working up to 80 hours a week. Achievement gives her stability—because since her father became seriously ill, she's learned that weakness is not an option.

Outwardly, she has everything under control. By day, she functions perfectly, delivering top performance at work. By night, she loses herself at increasingly extreme parties. Working and partying—always pushing herself to the limit.

But the conviction that she has to be strong and successful drives her into depression in her early thirties. Although she fights her way back to life, her soul is still empty. Until she attends an event with her sister, an event she really doesn't want to go to at all.
