This 2-hour no-lyrics session is designed for moments when your mind feels scattered and restless, and your attention keeps drifting. Also when getting started feels almost impossible, even though you know exactly what you need to do.
The session combines rhythmic ambient electronic music with a repeating 30.25β48 Hz monaural gamma cycle, rising and returning over each 20-minute cycle for controlled variation.
Subtle amplitude modulation is embedded into the music and synchronized with the same gamma cycle, while the monaural tones remain layered beneath the music.
The frequency range was inspired by Tombor et al., who found reduced resting gamma activity in adults with ADHD across both analyzed sub-bands: Gamma1 (30.25β39 Hz) and Gamma2 (39.25β48 Hz).
At 40 Hz, Schwarz & Taylor found a larger ASSR amplitude with monaural/acoustic beats than binaural beats, one reason I chose monaural stimulation here.
The intention is to use auditory stimulation across the same gamma range reported as reduced in adults with ADHD, to help you get unstuck, stay engaged, and work with focus.
π Research note:
β’ Tombor et al. β Decreased resting gamma activity in adult attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29457...
β’ Schwarz & Taylor β Human auditory steady state responses to binaural and monaural beats
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15721...
