Ive lived in christchurch all my life it feels weird seeing people amazed and explore christchurch instead of what everyone else does and goes to Auckland 😭, glad to see us get some love glad you enjoyed your trip

I lost my home, business and some close friends in the earthquake but how Christchurch has recovered and developed is amazing.

Christchurch looks absolutely lovely! New Zealand’s South Island is always on my travel bucket list:face-fuchsia-wide-eyes:

Sir Edmund Hillary was the first person ever to climb Mt Everest. I met him at primary school. He was a very humble, soft spoken, nice man. He spent the rest of his life raising money for the people of Nepal.

New Zealand has no snakes or any land based predators like bears or wolves, only a couple of poisonous spiders. A very safe place to get outdoors but watch the rapid weather changes in the mountains!

The arts centre complex was the original University campus from the 1800s until the 1970s when the new campus was built out in the suburb of ilam

I’ve lived in Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland, Melbourne, Dunedin and now Christchurch. It is by far my favourite city and I feel privileged being here.

What a thoughtful gesture—she chose the affordable pizza so he could have the ribs. That's real
love.

Love seeing my city through fresh eyes! Your excitement at my everyday is refreshing, ty

Just some little fact things: Christchurch is known as the Garden city for the botanic gardens at 35:48. The 'church' at 34:34 is the Christchurch Cathedral and is one of the most historic, well known buildings in christchurch. at 12:54, where you mentioned it's cold enough to snow. In christchurch it rarely ever snows. Temperatures can reach like -2 during the day sometimes but still due to ocean and mountains pretty much on all sides and a low flat area, snow is very rare having last snowed about 10 years ago. The bridge of rememberance at 29:22 is if I remember a memorial for the soldiers of World war 1 as New zealand played quite a big role, being in the 'ANZAC' (Australia New Zealand Army Corp) which we also have a dedicated day for with poppy's as the symbol. And yes Sir Edmund Hillary was the first man in the world to summit Mt Everest in 1953. And New Zealand has a 'Treaty Of Waitangi (Te Tiriti o Waitangi) which summarised basically is the Māori's saying to the Pakeha (Whites) that The colonises can live in the country, but the Māori's must be allowed their land and incooperate Māori language in everyday things.

I love New Zealand. Its a beautiful and peaceful country. And I enjoyed my 2 weeks stay in Auckland way back iin 2003.

Beautiful, chill, and clean.  Very civilized

New Zealand is famous worldwide for its Pinot wines.

Welcome to Christchurch 😊

Happy Anniversary to you, and how funny as we just returned from a weekend in Christchurch for our own anniversary this past weekend 😂 Right down to an anniversary dinner at Bessie, and a beer at the Church Pub! What a beautiful city (and yes how lucky with the weather, it was perfect for us too).

The building you thought was a church toward the end near the Gardens is actually the old University and we stayed in the most gorgeous hotel in there which is the old Observatory (still in use!).

Can also highly recommend the TranzAlpine Railway/Arthur’s Pass for those wanting to do something in the surrounds.

Great video of a gorgeous city 😊

We love Christchurch! 😊

Scorpio books has 3 separate shops in that little arcade. Best book shop, I love it ❤

Happy Anniversary to Bambi & Zane. Wishing you both a wonderful day filled with love and happiness as you celebrate another year together
