Re:ticking noise. You are confusing the noisy injectors with the valves.
The donut hanger is for the rear most support. The flat bands for the resonator.
Distributor CAP, you don’t mess with timing, motronic does.

Also if the onboard computer has a code function make sure no one messes with it. If a code is set it will prevent the car from starting. Seen it a few times where the kids put a code in then forgot it. There is a procedure to reset it but 20 years ago I forgot it. 🤣

Sub’d for more e28 content. In CT and picked my first one up a few months back (88 528e as well) and did a lot of the preventative maintenance you guys did. Ordered the wrong water pump too, but FCP’s site is wrong with their build date cutoff. Keep the vids coming; I’m learning some good stuff about this car from you guys 👍🏻
