You have to hear The Carpenters version of A Song for You. Written by Leon Russell, it is a masterpiece.

The pictures at the end of "Solitaire" were heartbreaking. Showing her wedding and then the scene of her funeral guests, along with her epitaph, made me cry! That song, even though Karen disliked it, was one of their very best. Gorgeous!

KC's cover of Solitaire (written by Neil Sedaka) is often cited by reviewers as her best ever lead vocal. This was despite the fact that she disliked the song...that girl just couldn't keep from knocking songs out of the park.

The video for "Only Yesterday" was shot at Huntington Library Gardens in San Marino, California. The bridge shown is the red moon bridge in the Japanese Garden at Huntington Library.

Hearing Karen sing "Solitaire" always bring tears to my eyes. This song, its creator Neil Sedaka and the Carpenters have an interesting history that is told very well by "Popcorn Philosopher" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3rE9KgQVDo&list=PLVaDWMlhe6SFTC0hs-Qb0pvbwSK6AK1DK

Two great songs!!!! I think "Solitaire" is about being alone even though your in a relationship. I always say, "The only thing worse than being alone is being right in a room with someone and feeling alone".
