The more recent adaptation of Far from the Madding crowd was also very good. Also, I don't know if you've seen it , but 'The straight story' is definitely the least 'Lynchian' Lynch film and is very good, plus it has just recently had a Bluray release.
Far from the madding crowd I must get to , lawless I own not seen it either. The elephant man is one of my favourite films of all time love it ๐๐ป. Nice watches mate ๐๐ป
Your weekly watches inspired me once again, Roy! I ordered โLawlessโ, 2 versions of โ..the Madding Crowdโ and โBelfastโ. Sound like good watches!
Yet again Roy you are the hostest with the mostest when it comes to variety...films from all genres and years, but as said before, you are becoming the YouTube guardian of the 40's to 60's noir and the like films...anybody wanting to get into that era need to watch you..take care sir ๐
I saw Lawless in the cinema Roy and enjoyed it immensely. Hardy is a massive presence in it. Good watch. Like the sound of that Joan Crawford film. Watched a good doc recently on the intense rivalry between her and Bette Davis. Wow that was venomous at times! Especially the fall out from Whatever Happened To Baby Jane. You know how I feel about The Elephant Man. And you're right. Superb 4k transfer. Great watches as usual and great to see the meet up go so well.
Great watches this week Roy, I saw that Lucky no Sleven wen it came out, enjoyed it but never saw it again, I'm interested in Lawless, seen that 1 around over the years but never picked it up๐๐
Ye as for Resident, I've played all the main games, still going today which keeps me gaming๐๐๐, glad ur enjoying the films, i really need to rewatch those๐๐
Nice lot of weekly watches, Far From The Maddening Crowd (1967) is a film , I watched at the cinema, we did the book in English Literature at school. It is, of course, set in the Napoleonic period! It always fascinated all the different bright coloured uniforms all the European countries had. British soldiers, it was red, remember in Zulu. By the First World War that had changed. I'm off again into History! Anyway, I love Julie Christie, one of our greatest british actresses. What a career she had! I've got the Blu-ray in my collection. The Resident Evil films I've never seen sounds like good popcorn fun. Love Joan Crawford, that's a good boxset. The Elephant Man is a quality film. I've got the 4K, too. Enjoyed watching your video. ๐
Hi Roy. Great video as usual. I actually prefer the latest version of Far From the Madding Crowd. Saw it at the cinema when it was released. Its definitely worth a watch. Also recently watched the older version of My Cousin Rachel. Its great. Olivia de Havilland is one of my favourites ๐
Hi Roy. Good watches. Yes, I enjoyed The Damned Donโt Cry also. Loved Far From the Madding Crowd. I have the remake with Carey Mulligan and liked it, some good performances, but for me not as memorable. Enjoyed Belfast too and The Elephant Man is excellent. Hope you enjoyed your meet up
Great watches Blu-Roy Division ๐๐ฟ๐๐ I been meaning to check out โLucky Number Sevelinโ ๐ โBelfastโ is fantastic Roy; beautiful film that ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ช I still got the remake of โFar From The Madding Crowdโ on the shelf to watch ๐
Morning Roy, you got through a good amount this week. I think the only one I've watched was Now You See Me 2, which I really disliked. I hope you had a good time in Brum
When I was really getting into films, I was convinced Lucky Number Slevin - which I came across as a result of it starting Morgan Freeman - was a run of the mill crime film. Now, I would like to watch it.
While I admire Kenneth Branagh, I thought Belfast was really dull when I went to see it in the cinema. I would like to give it a second chance though, Roy.
