Thanks for taking a look at the game SonicHub! Appreciate the feedback and a small thing, I'm not the only one who worked on it. There's a credits board in the hubworld to the right of where you spawn with all the cool people that made this project possible. Cheers!

Note: If you TAP the Homing Attack, Sonic does a more traditional homing attack where he stays in place. HOLDING the button retains your momentum. You can choose based on the situation. That is explained in the tutorial.
So, not a skill issue, a knowledge issue.

The tutorial tells you that holding the homing attack is what keeps your momentum. For a regular homing attack, just tap

What drives me up the wall when I watch people play this is how good everyone is at Metal Harbor.  That gave me the most trouble of all the levels.  I fell through the floor, fell through loops, drown more times than I can count.. but everyone else gets through it so smoothly.... I'm sure it's a skill issue but it's funny to me how some people are really good at some levels and really bad at others and it all varies XD

Well I had a "unique" experience with the game and for good reasons
1- I have never played a modern Sonic game before and my experience is limited to (SA1-SA2-Heroes-Shadow 05-P06) all on PC with some mods here and there
2- I have a low end PC meaning I had to work with an I5 2400, GT 520 , 8GB RAM DDR3

BUT does that mean I had a bad experience or that I hated the game ?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! , infact I had quite the fan with the "hub world" while getting accustomed to the controls and the game in general and the fact that this game runs on my PC with the lowest settings and 640X480 is a testament of how well optimized it is
so far I have only played through

1- Windmill Isle Act 1 which was a semi slideshow however I still had a little bit of fun and I saw the potential it has with a good PC
2- Emerald Coast which was quite fun and far more optimized than Windmill Isle and I had so much fun running everywhere and I still can't get around the fact that I can just run across the water to the other parts as I used to dream about this when Playing SA1
3- Sigil Archipelago which is where I'm currently and it's quite fun too  and it sits between Emerald Coast and Windmill Isle in terms of optimization and I really like the layout and it's aesthetic

I really liked the game so far I've installed it just last night and I've had a blast with it ever since and I'm sure the next levels are just as amazing

I cannot tell you how many people I've seen just jump right over the light speed attack tutorial. It's ridiculous.

A couple of notes for people that want to play this after watching:
LT for light speed attack.
Collect red rings for rewards.
D-Pad Right to change character. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are unlocked from the start.
Explore the hub world to unlock a fourth character.
Tap homing attack to remove momentum and gain height. (I swapped this in the options menu)
Running maintains your momentum much better than rolling.
Drop dash is good for getting you up to speed or going uphill, but it's not worth spamming.
When the spindash is set to tap, the more you tap the faster it is.
Bouncing on rails increases your speed (but I fall through them more often than not, which I believe is a bug).

I'm no pro, but this game is very fun when you know these tips

Sigil Archipelago (I think that’s how you spell the stage name) is actually a P-06 custom level, and it’s path is a little wonky, but it’s doable, there is a lot of terrain you can run up, it just isn’t obvious what you can and can’t, especially that one section with the sheet wall, you actually took a speedier route when you watched the dev path

5:15 That was supposed to be the Jump on Panel Number One so it probably was intended

btw you can use bounce going down a hill to get a big burst of speed
its usefull when you want to get dev speedruns

Hey sonichub you do know there are others characters right 😅 anyway thanks for playing this game

only needed 2 days to complete the dev times btw

0:23 OH that Demo I have for Years on my PC! I loved the Controls!
- I have that since 2019! I read some years ago that they ended that project. Nice that it is back! :D
- Wow they have so much new Stuff in it! in my version aren ot even rails. lol
- I hope Knuckles and Tails are still in it! :D Their Movemenrts are like in the Adventure games! That Engine would be perfect for a Sonic Adventure 1-2 Remake!

1:18 The Bounce isn't a drop dash, it is a bounce.
- Oh it HAS a drop dash!

I like those open World like areas for Sonic but the best stages were always those where you have a controlled way to go but with some extra ways. The newer games are too spongy for me in the controlls.

Now I want to get my Game Cube out and Play SA2B, again. But i have no old TV. lol

Another thing that would be nice would be if the camera automatically looked in the direction you were moving since sonic steers more like a car at high speeds.

It is like a blend of modern adventure😊

I really hope we get a new official momentum based sonic game but instead of just completely removing the boost, they should instead made it into an upgrade you can unlock by buying or doing something like collecting secret item or doing secret mission

honestly i would love to play as Amy or Blaze

played a fair bit of it the game is peak its like a faster adventure style game almost a hybrid between boost and adventure only real nit pick i have is the lack of a drift for characters like sonic sense the turning at high speeds is a tad cumbersome

I hope they design an original level that uses all the mechanics present. There's no levels that require you to wall jump, or swing off trees. I can imagine a city level where you use streetlights to swing round a corner quickly, or access new paths. I guess the reason theres no dedicated wall jump sections, is because it would force you to slow down. But maybe it could be used as a punishment for taking a lower/slower path

The tutorial stage is the Sonic Unleashed tutorial stage.
