I have traveled with the small and medium. To get the medium on a plane, you have to basically tie it in knots. It works, but it is a pain. The magic of the small is you can stuff it full, THEN tighten the compression straps. Then open it back up and stuff maybe 10 percent more into it and compress it again. It's like a little big bag. Also lugging the medium when it is only half full is a pain since it just keeps morphing around you and keeps sliding off your shoulder.

TNF Basecamp Duffels are the best. I started with a small and medium. But now i travel with two XS Basecamp models and they are perfect.

Oh dude - you presented exactly the information i was looking for - great review! I really wanted to get the small one and was worried if Ryanair will cause me trouble for it but if you can fly with the medium (not packed to the brim) then i should be fine with using the small smartly ❤

Can a medium one be used for cabin luggage on a flight? Is it not too big or?

Hi, can the small size be used as free luggage or would it be better to use it as 10kg luggage?

Ciao, la borsa M la usi anche come bagaglio gratuito Ryanair? (Quello che in teoria dovresti mettere sotto il sedile)

Are the backpack straps reinforced properly at the top ? Can it carry 30 kg weight on backpack straps ?

@alwaysallblacks 2 years ago

The bags really do miss out on comfortable straps. Actually really poor. I replaced mine with an Osprey for this very reason.

Use one of the backpack straps attached diagonal as shoulder long strap
