I'm not a minimalist, but I'm also not an overpacker. That said, I'm not going without a passport wallet. Passport, boarding passes, visas (some countries can ask you for any or all those things on the spot), cash, ID, credit card, coin pouch, and it even can hold my phone. There's even a zip compartment where I can keep a few bandaids or ibuprofen or lip balm. It's a large passport wallet, but if I get lost, miss the tour bus, have to go through a security situation or anything else, I have it ALL right there. Everything I need to get me back where I need to be. If I were a much more experienced traveler I might not feel a need for that. But for me, knowing that one unit has me covered for anything is important.

Good video, interesting choices. I have to disagree though, on your white-noise machine: I bought a CD 25 years ago from the Nature Company, that has an excellent ocean track on it that i've fallen asleep to for years. So, I took this CD, ripped it to my iPhone, and then made a playlist that repeats this album 15 times. The CD is 42 minutes long, and since i never sleep 10 hours, the playlist lasts until I wake up. I always use my iPhone as my bedside clock anyway, in a small Magsafe travel charger, so the playlist makes a perfect companion wherever we are. At home, I use an iOS shortcut that starts the playlist, changes my volume to about 40%, turns on my celing fan, and puts the iPhone in SILENT mode.

The talking Epicka had me laughing! Great review. I ordered the slimmer Epicka after having just purchased the larger model recently.

I’m relatively new to your channel. I have to say you’re a weird dude, and I like your communication style! Thank you for being you!

The Matador soap pouch is also great for packing a wet beauty sponge. I hate carrying a dirty sponge, on the morning of check-out. The pouch gives me the opportunity to wash my sponge and pack it clean but still wet. (In the pouch, it’s usually dry by the time I get to unpack it again.)
That little noise speaker is great, too. I not only use it during travel. It also helps me when my husband is away and the house is “too quiet,” at night. (His snoring is annoying but I also miss it, when it’s not happening. 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I must admit I have the Epicka brick and I’m not willing to replace it as I’ve had it less than a year,Guess I should have waited….

I love my Chums wallet, hooked a bungee strap to its loop and pined it inside my travel sling so it cant be lost or stolen.

Love this! I’m always curious to see which travel essentials people swear by, and you covered such a great mix—practical, clever, and a few I hadn’t even thought about. The personalized earbuds and that soap case were especially interesting… those little upgrades really do make travel smoother.

As a travel advisor, I’m constantly reminding clients that the right accessories can take so much stress out of a trip. Packing cubes, noise machines, compact wallets—all those small items add up to a much more comfortable journey.

Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful roundup! Adding a couple of these to my own list. ✈🧳

2:59 How did you get a clear Matador soap bag? Is this a colorway they have now? I could use a third color to identify my bars. Currently have black and blue.

I bought those Denon Pearls last year and they are amazing! Audiophile levels of sound. The size is a non-starter for most people, but they are an incredible value for $100 USD. Great video as usual, thanks for the information.

The Matador soap bag is excellent.

love your channel and am always excited to see your videos pop up whenever I get ready to pack for a trip. A few things... I definitely bought the KraftGeek in advanced of moving to Europe. Buyer's warning from your original video.. face it away bc it ninja'ed my chest and I had a bruised b**b for my trip. Also, I love your edits! The humor is what keeps the viewers coming back!

Sad about the Matador...I've seen this a few places and really want it to reduce space and weight for budget airlines or travel in Europe (where everything is smaller). I'm concerned about forever chemicals and the Prop 65 warning (DMF is banned in EU). please post more options if you come across any

I'm a recent subscriber and am enjoying your suggestions. A must-have for me every single time I travel no matter where I go or how I get there is a flashlight!

@thedavidguy01 10 months ago

I just ordered the Matador soap bag. The plastic ones that we have been using are too bulky and end up being messy just as you described.

@deetee5156 9 days ago

Not sure if anyone mentioned it or not, but I think the person who owns the black toothbrush needs a new brush head

Another great video! What is the quality of the mini printer like? Polaroid quality?

Enjoy Syros. One of the best Greek islands with the friendliest people.
